How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGood location to get to Tayrona and Minca (buses from the end of the street) - would be bad if you wanted to actually be in Santa Marta Helpful staff Good aircon (private room) We had one meal from the restaurant which was tasty Great set up- central pool with rooms off it with tables and hammocks- would be great for socialising (we were there in low season so was quiet) Seems like a safe area Supermarkets nearby
The kitchen needs a LOT of improvement- not even the basic equipment to make a sandwich or instant noodles (no mugs or knives or chopping boards) plus ants on the surfaces Power went down for half a day and we weren’t informed in advance Shower leaked into bathroom

Verified reviewThe hostel is perfectly located, about a 10 minute walk to the minca and tayrona bus stops as well as a shopping mall. The neighborhood is a safe residential one and you can go for walks at night. The dorm room with bathroom en suite was clean and comfortable, and staff are friendly especially Andrea.
The shared kitchen could use a lot of improvement in regards to cleanliness and equipment. There were no mugs at all to make tea and barely any dinnerware. There was a sign stating that “the cleaning elves are on strike” and to clean up after yourself, so I’m guessing that the kitchen doesn’t get cleaned.

Verified reviewVery clean; very quiet. It’s like an oasis in the city. The kitchen is a great size and has its own lounging area. However, it was not busy while I was there, so I had full use of everything with few others around.
Not enough hammocks. Not enough useful pots and pans in the kitchen, it it worked when no one else was cooking.

Verified reviewAmazing courtyard and outside the room places to hang, eat, work, and plan. The private room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was a great value, the staff was so helpful and friendly.
The only thing funny was that the air con leaked water condensation onto the floor. I was reeeeally lucky my stuff didnt get soaked overnight- it was close. If they cant fix it no worries but maybe mark it w tape so no bags or things get wet!

It’s a hostel, so a bit spartan. Our private room was small, cozy, private. No view, just a sleeping room.

Verified reviewWe stayed here back in 2019 and found it to be a convenient jumping off point for Palomino, Tayrona park and Minca. It was great to return and meet some fellow travellers once again. The room we stayed in was comfortable and the staff were helpful. We were able to leave our main bags while we went to other places. We would stay again.
They weren’t serving food on the day we came which was inconvenient but clearly a one off. We were only so disappointed as the food was tasty and good value last time we stayed.

Verified reviewThe room was cleaned, quiet and updated. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is located near the bus station so very convenient. If you have been to the dreamer in bogota,, this one is a different vibes. Good wifi
The kitchen is very slow, so it took over one hour to receive my order. For breakfast they did not have dairy free options.
