The location at 6 pm it seems dark and dangerous because some local people around is near to the trash so that was not safe for me as a women and it took so long to open the door for me and I was afraid

Not a negative point but room for improvement: Guests should receive the PIN to open the door as well. I was not aware breakfast has to be ordered the day before. Still highly recommended and would book again. :)

Mayra and her daughter Alana take excellent care of this accommodation. They are always willing to help and make you feel at home. We spent four nights there and loved it. The kitchen is very well equipped, and we cooked there whenever we needed to. The place is comfortable for relaxing and resting after any activity. The double bedrooms are cozy with nice bathrooms and air conditioning to escape the intense Santa Marta heat. We definitely recommend this place to any traveler, tourist, or visitor. That said, ask before you head out which direction is safe and pleasant, so you can walk from the accommodation and get the best impressions of Santa Marta (recommendation: it’s safe to go toward the coast and south toward the Marina; better avoid going north).

I had a truly beautiful experience at Casa Tunido. Although there was a small issue during check-in due to some misunderstandings between the hotel and Booking.com, the team handled it with great care and willingness to find a solution that worked for both sides. What really made me happy was how much they prioritized my comfort and convenience during the whole process—I felt understood and supported. The place itself has a very peaceful energy. The garden is filled with beautiful plants and gives a sense of calm. I also deeply appreciated the spacious co-working area—it allowed me to work comfortably and stay productive during my time there. But what made my stay truly special was the warmth of the staff, especially Mayra. She is a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart—caring, generous, and full of loving energy. I felt taken care of, not as a guest, but as a fellow human being. Her kindness was sincere and deeply touching. She helped me so much, even with arranging taxis in another city, and did it all with such warmth. I’m grateful for my time there and for the people who made it so special. Thank you!!!

The private room was spacious and comfortable and there were lots of spots around the property to hangout. It’s very close to the main area which made it easy to get around but far enough that it was easy to sleep.

I do agree that the neighborhood was a little bit weird at night, but you could always get in an Uber to get to places. There are some homeless people around in the neighborhood at night, but nothing threatening ever happened

It was a wonderful stay. We were in the private room at the back, and it was wonderful. Very spacious, staff was great and super friendly, and they even had cats! The bathroom that was in our room did not have a ceiling so if that’s something that you’re uncomfortable with then definitely do keep that in mind.

It was pretty quiet, felt hard to connect with folks, though we were just there a night.

It was a clean quiet place with good ac. They had a great communal kitchen set up and filtered water. There were a couple of sweet kitties that lived there as well. It was a good location, close to the main business area as well as the beach.

The shower does not have warm water. But mostly that is no problem in Santa Marta.

The Casa Tunido was a super nice hostel close to the City center and the Mercado Central, where the buses leave. We had a private room, with a stylish design. The AC was working fine. You can pay by card without a surcharge. We also had the breakfast which was delicious.

The streets around the hostel weren't nice, but it didn't bother us that much.

Tunido was a really nice place! The staff was friendly and they gave us a lot of useful information about Santa Marta and the beaches around it. Our room was spacious and clean, the air conditioning was a lifesaver and we slept well. As the hostel wasn't close to the main plaza there weren't much noises during the night.

I really liked the hostel however I didn’t like the location - while it was quite central, the street just felt kinda dodgy. Also, there was no hot water in our shower but we didn’t really mind because the weather was hot anyways!

Loved this place! We only stayed for a night before our flight to Medellin but wish we could have stayed longer! Highlights: Lovely Staff, Air conditioning, Free filtered water, Beautiful Decor and very quiet and tranquil.
