The dormitory doesn’t have privacy curtains but also for the very affordable price of the stay, it was fine. Just a minor detail though :)

The staff is amazing and very helpful. The hostel is super clean and the kitchen is one of the best equipped ones I came across in South American hostels. The breakfast bowl is delicious and it is easy to walk to bars, restaurants, public transport and salsa classes. I would definitely stay there again!

Everything! I had a private room which was super comfortable. The place is located in a prime position for my Spanish classes and Dancefree salsa and bachatta dance classes and socials. I felt super safe wandering around at night. Its near the parties I couldn't hear them at night. All the staff are really helpful and friendly and indulged my Spanish even though some speak English including the owner who made me feel so at home I stayed even longer! The kitchen is fully equipped so very useful.

Not really negative comments but something to be aware of... There is a strong river flowing along side where the private rooms are. I slept fine but some people may find it loud. Noise cancelling headphones may be needed for some. Guests were nice but this isn't a social hostel, most people kept to themselves

Hostel owner was very attentive and ensured fresh coffee was available with breakfast each morning. Delicious smoothie bowls for breakfast each morning. An amazing tour given by owner all around Medellín. All staff were very friendly and helpful

Yolo Hostel was a fantastic place to stay. It truly felt like a second home. The accommodation was clean and simple, and the evenings were wonderfully quiet and peaceful—perfect for unwinding after a day in the city. The hostel is well-equipped with everything you might need, and the owner was incredibly kind and helpful. A special highlight was the breakfast and lunch spot right next to the hostel. We enjoyed the most delicious breakfasts there—highly recommended! Thank you for the wonderful experience!

YOLO is a very chilled hostel, far enough from the hecticness of the tourist area but close enough to be there in a 3 minute walk. I liked the hammocks, amazing breakfast and coffee at Betty's and the staff were the best. Also, I did a river tour and the transformation city tour with Federico, which I highly recommend!

Federico, the owner, is a very interesting person with an inspiring life story. He leads tours, try to take one if you can. But the facilities are great for the price and I had no issues.

The hostel is about a 20-minute walk from the metro. Also, there's no air conditioning in the dorms, just two fans that were on all night, blowing directly in my face even when it wasn't needed.

The common area is fantastic—perfect for chilling out and meeting new people. The beds were comfortable and clean, and the staff were super friendly and ready to give you advices. Special shout-out to Aleja, who was incredibly sweet and always ready to help with anything you needed.

Everything is amazing. Starting from the people (owner, receptionist, cleaning lady), always welcome you with a big smile which makes you feel home. Garden is just an unique place. Very comfy. What's best? The coffee!!! Proper specialty coffee it's being served there.

Bedrooms could be better equipped. They are a bit frugal.. but the overall balance quality-price is still quite honest when I take a look to the price I have paid.

The hostel overall is really nice, shared space is comfy (I spent a lot of time in these hamacs…) Staff is wonderful, always available to help you or answer your questions. Cool tours / activities proposed by the hostel (I did the Medellin transformation tour, which was incredible) There is no word to describe the fruit bowls served by Betty’s bowl restaurant. Definitely the best I have had so far 😍

When the restaurant is full, guests from there will take up the communal space without any notice. It’s at the far end of el poblado so you walk 30 mins from the metro or Uber

Liked the relaxed atmosphere because of the plenty of space to sit, work or lie in hammocks, much green plants around. There is a yard inside and a terrace for dining in front of the hostel so you may choose your favourite place. Sleeping is comfortable and not noisy around. The hostel organises different tours and I chose the one telling about the difficult and violent past times of the Medellin and how the new regions are evolving nowadays and becoming artistic centres. Got good insights and understanding of the place so I recommend the tour! +loved a bawl of rresh fruits and musli for breakfast which was included!

The weather, but that has nothing to do with YOLO Hostel! :)

I checked in after midnight and this was no trouble for the receptionist, such a nice first impression and very welcoming. The hostel has a real 'homely vibe' with a fantastic chill out area, hammock area and bathrooms. There are excellent kitchen facilities and the large dining area was nice to hang out and meet fellow travellers. The outdoor space is very relaxing, brimming with plants and flowers! I loved it so much I stayed for one week! Excellent location too, close enough to the local bars etc but nice and quiet at night. Also Betty's bowls next door is also amazing and the staff there are super cool too!
