Antigua Guatemala, Guatemala
In total, I've spent 4 nights at Hospedaje el Viajero, but only one at no II. I had quite a dark and small room there and could gladly switch to a more spacious and lighter one at no I :) There I've liked everything! They have a nice rooftop terrace with a great view of the vulcanoes. Both places offer free coffee, water and tea and a well equipped, clean kitchen with a big fridge The ladies at both places were always kind and helpful and also organised the airport transfers for me, thank you! Communication worked very prompt Location is perfectly central in Antigua, but it gets loud because of all the cars from like 7am on
The rooms at No II are definitely a bit less cozy than at No I
Panajachel, Guatemala
This hotel is in a great location, there's a nice courtyard inside with a kitchen. The hotel offer free water and you can buy tickets for shuttle services at reception
Unfortunately the kitchen is very small and was messy when we looked in, we didn't use it though. The room is about what you'd expect for the price, there's sockets pulled away from the walls, the bathroom is small, the tap wobbles, the bed sheets smelt pretty bad and the ceiling fan didn't work. Myself and my girlfriend have been travelling Latin America for over a month now and I had the worst sleep I've had staying at this hotel. Just outside our window was a rooster who must've been disturbed during our stay because he crowed throughout the night. I'm talking every 15 minutes. He first started at 2:20am and stopped at 7:55am. I tried using ear plugs, didn't work. Then added noise cancelling headphones over the earplugs. That helped but it was still loud enough to hear. The window in the room is a glass shutter that doesn't close properly and the glass is paper thin. I understand the hotel may not be able to do much about the crowing if it's coming from another residence but the windows desperately need to be improved to reduce outside noise. Added to that, the resident courtyard parrot began his chorus of 'hola' and 'hello' at 8am which is kind of cute but when you haven't slept much during the night, it's actually a bit annoying.
San Juan La Laguna, Guatemala
Great little place that is so close to everything!! Heaps of character, adorable cats around and beautiful outdoor spaces, thankyou for having us!
If you're iffy with bathrooms, this bathroom is outdoors and very very basic facilities, also we stayed over the weekend and it was very loud (on the weekdays it was super quiet though!)

Great location, comfortable, clean and great price.
Guatemala, Guatemala
Cheap and close to the airport. Staff was friendly.
The room was very dirty and extremely loud during the day and night. The photos gave a totally wrong impression of the accomodation. We had the private room, which honestly was more like a storage. Yes, the price is cheap, but honestly still too expensive for what you get. I would definitely not recommend it.

Jaqueline and the other staff were fantastic. The hotel is beautiful and such good value for the price. Breakfast is good and cheap. They even helped me with borrowing adapters and hairdryers. The location is on the outskirts of the old city. It is. 10 minute walk to most shops which is nice because the very centre is very busy. Thank you again! 🌺💗🦋✨
