The house is large and overall very warm - looks like a very happy family lives here. The place was clean and the host was helpful and kind. Location was perfect for early morning flights out of KEF

If you have any sensitivity to smoke this is not the place to stay. I felt overwhelmed by the cigarette smell that was in every room /bathroom and opening windows did not help. Sadly I was unable to sleep and would not have booked if I knew this was a place people smoked inside. I thought otherwise it was great and the host so kind but for future travelers they definitely should know.

All was perfect, only downside the dryer wasn't working but we found out after we had done the washing. But I would recommend this place to everyone staying at Akureyri

Lovely cozy house in a fabulous location. Just a 2 mín walk from the centre of town.

Big warm room, comfortable bed, shared kitchen facilities, nice garden view.

Queue to the shared bathroom :(, it would be better if toilet was separate from the shower. No freezer, couldn't freeze ice packs :(

Location was amazing, close to shops, restaurants etc.

No lifts in the building. Had a heavy suitcase to carry. Not very family friendly.

Nice to have a little sink in our private room

A ton of rules set by the host, which he himself doesn’t even follow - quiet time rule from 23:00-07:00, but host puts music on very loudly at 6am to wake up the whole hostel. A very antisocial man. Ridiculous that this experience, especially since it’s a hostel, cost us 140 euros

Kitchenette was functional and nice to have.

Poor response from staff, I had emailed almost every day of our stay asking for new bed sheets and only received a generic message back which seemed to have been generated by AI.
