A beautiful and very modern cabin in a serene setting with almost no one around. Exceptional attention to detail with nothing left to chance. Excellent shower and bathroom. Very spacious, super modern even by hotel standards, with a really comfy bed. Top to bottom glass walls with beautiful views over the bay with seals (telescope included!) - watching them was great! Supermarket less than a 5 minute drive away. Hosts were wonderful. If you are the area and looking for peace and quiet, look no further - very highly recommended!

Amazing views over Reykjavik, with wall to ceiling glass all around you. Room is huge and really nice. A bit different concept from a traditional hotel - the hotel occupies a very high floor of (an office?) building, with several rooms and a cool common area to hang out in. Breakfast was brought to our room - there was so much food. Wine fridge in the room. Just a short walk to the city centre.

Tiny: coffee machine didn't work, but that may have been us! I am sure if we had asked they'd have sorted us out with coffee though. Was bit unclear where to park - we found a paid car park nearby, but I think there were a few spots just in front of the hotel we may have been able to use.

We really enjoyed our stay: the house is warm and the bed and bedding are really comfy, we rested well after active day. The kitchen is fully equipped (each room has a box in the fridge where you can put your food) and you get nice breakfast. The location and the views from the house are amazing! Really recommend this place.

Was wonderful to be a 5-minute walk to the Geysir area so that you could have the place all to yourself outside of the peak crowded hours. Very short driven to other Golden circle attractions. Rooms are nice and modern. Loads of common space to hang out in or have a drink. Very convenient parking.

I really don't understand the glowing reviews of the food and the restaurant. We had dinner and breakfast. Tomato soup was really bland. Then had to wait forever for mains, eventually reminding our waitress. The people setting next to us had the same experience. Mains were, at best, forgettable. I think there was one large table that kept them busy and maybe they were severely understaffed, but in general the restaurant seemed not even quarter-full. Same at breakfast - food had run out and not a great deal of choice. So overall, restaurant was a major disappointment in what was otherwise a nice hotel.

A unique experience you will always remember. The private boat tour to the cabin with our guide Thomas was amazing. The view and serenity are second to none. The cabin is modern and clean. The bed is comfy. Temperature was great. The included food was delicious and so much.

Remember you are in a very fancy tent on the glacier lagoon rather than a hotel room :) All very clearly communicated so no surprise, but beware that the toilet is a fraction of an airplane toilet with no real door, there is no shower, and you need to be super careful with everything.

We really enjoyed our stay at Efra Sel Hostel: the view from the property is great, the bed was really comfy and the kitchen well equipped for any meal. Truly recommend!

My wife loves rustic houses full of character, and you definitely get that feel at Skalakot. The rooms are large. Nice breakfast. We had the spa to ourselves.

Cleanliness could be improved in places - cobwebs outside the windows of both our room and the spa. The spa windows facing the mountain could have been cleaned. Spa door didn't close properly so it'd flap and draft. I think with very little extra work they can make it spotless.
