There are several different pools, both indoors and outdoors, including heated pools, whirlpools (hot tubs), and slides, and the pool area is super nice with palm trees and views of the sea. The room was very nice, modern, and had pretty lovely view. There is a very nice “convenience store” right inside the hotel, where you can buy everything ranging from local snacks to beach clothes (including shoes), to toiletries such as sun cream, shaving cream, deodorant, etc. All the staff were super nice and there were many international staff members who spoke perfect English. There is a free, 24-hour gym.

The hotel location is inconvenient if you don’t have a car, as the hotel is on top of a hill and to even just get down to the area with restaurants and shops, it takes 10-15 minutes of walking. To get to the beach, that is additional walking. Yes, they have a shuttle bus, but it only leaves once every hour. The pools are sadly mainly for kids/families, because they all have a depth under 120cm, and the slide is quite slow. You have to pay extra (1500 yen) to enter the spa (hot bath), I really wouldn’t expect this from a 5-star hotel, usually even 3 or 4-star hotels have this included in the price. Instead of offering a nice lounge to all guests, pretty much the only lounge area can only be used by some “Club” members, which are basically VIP guests who pay a lot more. Due to some miscoordination on the staff’s part, I was asked to pay again at check-out even though I had already paid for the room on Booking.com. It eventually got resolved, but took some time and this shouldn’t happen, considering that Booking.com is widely used - the hotel should be well prepared for customers from that website.

The hotel is located in a beautiful location, in the Gion district. Easy to access with public transportation. We were welcomed with delicious green tea and some sweets. The staff is very friendly and always happy to help! The rooms are HUGE and spacious, as well as very simple and beautifully decorated. The coffee and mini croissants for breakfast was a nice little detail we didn’t expect to get. The beds were comfortable and we also enjoyed both our own bath and the public one. It was always nice to come back to such a peaceful space after a whole day of exploring busy areas.

Great location, 5mins walk to Tsuruhashi station. Restaurants, convenient stores, supermarkets and pharmacies all within walking distance. Host is super friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay!

Very nice hotel, walking distance to Kashiwa main station. Lots of shops and restaurants around. Staff was very kind, and hotel is practically brand new. Breakfast was also good.

Beds are exceptionally hard and pillows were low, but this is quite common in Japan. Maybe an option for thicker pillow would be nice.

Room and bathroom were spacious. Dinner buffet was really good. Staff were helpful. Short walk to hotel from Ubako ropeway station.

You can only access this hotel via ropeway, bus or car. The hotel shuttle bus will only take you to the nearest bus stop. If there is bad weather the ropeway service maybe suspended, and taxis are hard to book. Beware some of the path from Ubako ropeway station to the hotel is muddy and rocky.

It is a flat that is extremely small for 4 people. It is sold as mixed dorm. The shower cabin and the so called kitchen corner with the fridge is in the room where 4 people sleep. If one person is in the room there is no space for the others, only in the bed. Do not want to pack your luggage, do not want to take anything of your luggage, simply there is no space. I was really shocked when I found my sleeping bag thrown out of my bed, partly on the luggage of others and on the floor. It is unacceptable. I suggest everyone to pay slightly more and book another property.
