We had a very good stay at Rock Rivers. The hotel was very clean and comfortable, with a good and tasty breakfast to start the day before heading to Machu Picchu. The staff (especially Angela) were very kind and helpful, and check-in/check-out were easy. The location is convenient, at the heart of Aguas Calientes, close to the bus stop for Machu Picchu. Rooms are simple but well-equipped, and everything worked smoothly. A great choice for a short stay before and/or after visiting the citadel. We also recommend the restaurant of the hotel, Ponchos. Very tasty dishes and great service.

Great location on the border of Miraflores and Barranco, so both are easily walkable to. Bunk beds were surprisingly high enough that you could sit up comfortably (which hasn’t been my experience with triple bunks in other hostels). Refurbished and spacious bathrooms, with hot water even at the sinks. Eggs served for breakfast along with two pieces of bread each.

There was no one at reception when I arrived, though this site shows that check in is supposed to be available till 11.30pm. But sorted it out after messaging them on WhatsApp. Bathroom in the dorm couldn’t be locked because the door would not fit properly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing stay! The host was very welcoming and gave clear instructions. The apartment has a stunning ocean view, and right in front there’s a tennis court - he even kindly offered us to play there although it’s a members’ club. After a long hike, it was super thoughtful that he let us use some washing products. Everything was perfect, 10/10!

Really distinctive independent vibe. Very welcoming and helpful staff who all work so hard. Always a lovely breakfast and hot drinks available all the time. Great value for money. The location is perfect - safe, while also very close to all my favourite places. Great base from which to work and have some fun.

We do not suggest this hotel.Our triple room at 120 usd per night was at the ground floor although we asked for a higher floor. It was noisy and the sound insulation was very poor. Instead of curtains there were roll ups for the windows looking towards the street .The result was that the room had no light all day because we could not open them. The breakfast was quite poor with very few choices.

A lot - this is NOT a 4 star hotel.. Bedding on arrival wasn't clean - had to get the cleaner to change it. Bathroom - tiles need replacing, shower took ages to get hot. Sink tap fitting loose. Breakfast OK, but not great - definitely also not 4 star. The whole hotel looks sad and tired. Staff were OK, some even friendly, but it doesn't distract from the fact that some money needs to be invested in this place. WiFi super slow, TV is a satellite TV - not smart. This hotel is not good value for money I'm afraid. I had better accommodations in Peru for half the price. Would not return I'm afraid.

We were on level 5 and both mornings we were awakened from 4:30 as breakfast was served in the restaurant directly above us on level 6 in the restaurant. Every time a chair was moved it echoed through our room. Considering we paid more for river views I thought this room should be at a reduced rate due to the early morning wake up

- Dirty: restroom in the lobby did not have paper and was not clean at all… - Room is very small, impossible to completely close the window which is a big problem knowing kitchen of the hotel are just under the room in the center of the building… - Nothing to make coffee or tea so I asked for hot water when returning to my room at 22h. Finally they brought it at 22h30…
