Beautiful hotel and grounds with warm, friendly staff. We enjoyed having a bungalow with a separate bedroom and bathroom for the kids downstairs. We had lovely sightings of coati, white faced capuchin monkeys, aguti, and many birds. The pools are small but perfect for a quick midday dip with the kids. The restaurant had a great breakfast (included in our stay) and we also enjoyed dinner there some nights when we wanted to relax on the property. We stayed four nights and it was the perfect start to our Costa Rica adventure!

We just checked-out of Koora, and we can’t wait to return. From the very first moment we arrived, we were transported to a place unlike one we had seen before. This was made even better with the friendly smiles of Marilyn and Jason who told us about the property while we sipped on a refreshing welcome drink. The vibe was always spa like, exuding total relaxation. Next, we walked the trail to our beautiful 2-story bungalow nestled in the vegetation. We opened the terrace door, and all we could hear was nature all around. Completely peaceful. We had breakfast (included), lunch and dinner at the on-site restaurant, Kire. The food was excellent, and the service exceptional each time. We even had a drink, and Damien makes a mean gin martini. One added plus to the hotel is the adjacent preserve where you can see sloths, a tapir and two impressive jaguars. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. The staff were available around the clock using WhatsApp to communicate with its guests. If you find yourself in Monteverde, treat yourself to the Koora experience.

Getting to the hotel is on an unpaved road like the entire area, two tiny pools. The road to the rooms can be challenging in the rain or for people with disabilities

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel part of the Koora family. ALL staff went above and beyond to make us feel special and welcomed. It’s the small things that count!! Knowing our names and including our names when talking to us. Everything is so professional, friendly and kind. They were on it!! The rooms were ultra clean and absolutely fabulous. Each room was its own paradise. I honestly can not rate this place high enough. Thank you all so much. Only staying here for two days has left such a positive impression on us. Monteverde is a must and this hotel is a must!!

Road up to the property could be improved but not unlike many roads in Monteverde.

Beautiful property all round with a number of wildlife spottings. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options and dinner also amazing, gorgeous views from the restaurant. We had a spacious, well decorated, comfy room. Loved the plunge pool off our room- unfortunately this was too hot to go in one day but this was resolved shortly after informing staff.

It was serene with great views of Monteverde. The grounds were Well maintained. Villas was spacious with great amenities. Food was delicious and so was the ambience. The staff was hospitable. They offered great customer service and were very attentive.

The swimming pools could be bigger

We absolutely LOVED everything about this hotel—especially the stunning Kira restaurant. From the moment we arrived, it felt magical. On our first night, we were upgraded to one of the tree houses, which was such a treat. For the rest of our stay, we moved to a room near the pool, and it was just as wonderful. Perched on top of a hill with breathtaking views, the whole place feels like a peaceful retreat. We loved walking along the charming little paths to get to the restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or dinner—it was all simply perfect. The food was fantastic, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, and we spotted so much wildlife right on the property. We would come back in a heartbeat!

The rooms are exceptional in decor and comfort, they are immersed in the cloud forest and are beautifully designed. The staff is very pleasant and intelligent, a unique combination from our experience, the restaurant is excellent and we enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Breakfast portions are too big for us but very good, the best we had in Costa Rica. The view is spectacular. We would go back in a heart beat.

Amazing staff—best I experience in 30+ hotels in Costa Rica. Restaurant was amazing for dinner. Breakfast omelette was a let down but the view is incredible and wildlife in the trees right there.

Empanadas are very dry and overcooked. Granola for breakfast not yummy. All other food was good.

We were upgraded to a room with a plunge pool that was awesome. Each room is it's own cabin. Very private and a nice walk to the room.

The pillows were uncomfortable for myself and my husband.

It was beautiful. The rooms were lovely. The staff were friendly, and helpful. The little extras were very cute. It was in exceedingly short walking distance of the San Lucas dining experience.

The glass railing in the balcony is a bit flimsy and although there are warnings about not leaning on it etc, I think it is best that it's removed and replaced with something more sturdy and safe. Afterall everyone likes to lean on the railing and look out to the beautiful views
