Definitely needed 4 wheel drive in Monteverde generally and on the road to Amalu.

The A frame house and the surrounding property was absolutely perfect! The photos do not do it justice. So many extra details and luxuries too! bathrobes and slippers, a bottle of champagne and other treats including snacks, drinks and breakfast items, cool lighting both in and out and complete privacy!

What’s not to like … wish I could’ve stayed longer.

Amazing view with a spectacular sunrise and beautiful birds (e.g., tucán, pava, pericos, lapas, etc). The glass walls with an amazing view to the stars, it was simply astonishing.

Absolutely stunning and well above expectations! Never stayed in such a luxury place. The owners thought of everything and made it such an easy, comfortable experience. We saw more wildlife here than on our nature tours! We did get woken up almost every morning ~6am by (probably) monkeys, but that didn’t detract much from this exceptional experience.

A wonderful experience in the clouds! We booked the cabin and house for two nights with friends. All six of us had an amazing time, relaxing in the jacuzzi, looking at the views and watching wildlife. Both nights we dined at Kapi Kapi a local family restaurant. Again a wonderful experience with delicious food, great wine and lovely people. A truly first class experience.

This place is absolutely gorgeous—beautifully designed, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. You can really tell they thought of every detail to make the stay feel special. From the layout to the amenities, everything felt intentional and pampering. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a stay that’s both relaxing and refined.

It’s a little bit out of monteverde so you would need a 4x4 to come and go, otherwise taxis were about $20 each way to get into the town

We stayed in Glass House 1.0 for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday and had a great experience. Firstly the hosts were the best, they were very communicative from the moment I booked, helping us to arrange transportation from La fortuna to them, as well as onward travel to Samara. They were available on WhatsApp throughout our stay helping with various things. As we don’t have a car, they helped arrange taxis for us. The view from the house was simply amazing, and the hot tub on the terrace was fantastic. When we stayed there was a lot of rain and thunderstorms but sitting inside felt cosy, the house is stocked with everything you need (it was actually quite hard to leave!). We got a delivery one evening from the local restaurant because of the rain and it was delicious. Big projector so you can watch films at night. We saw toucans and a family of hawks land in the tree from the window, and monkeys on the grounds! Would highly recommended for a romantic stay!

Amazing value for money. You get a whole little cabin with a fireplace, coffee machine and provided coffee, they gifted us almost a dozen eggs, butter, rolls, homemade jam, as well as a bottle of sparkling white wine. Overall we had an awesome time in Monteverde and it was a highlight of our stay in CR. Would highly recommend this for friends and family for a relaxing couple's getaway.

The road to get to Amalu was a bit treacherous and took a lot of patience to navigate

Incredible location with valley views and tranquil surroundings. The hot tub over looking the valley and lake views was incredible. The attention to detail was astounding - from the sparkling wine at arrival to the little touches throughout the beautiful property.

When it's windy and raining the noise is quite big. But the property prepared earplugs for us.

Very helpful stuff! The stuffs help us a lot including calling a taxi which is very hard for us because we don't speak Spanish. The view is great! It's tidy and clean. The facility inside the house is various. We enjoyed the snacks and drinks.

Everything was perfect. They had literally everything one would need (for example, binoculars, all cooking items). I would always recommend it to anyone visiting Monteverde!

There was nothing we didn’t like!

We loved our Tiny House, hidden away under the trees. The architecture is beautiful and the house has everything you could need to make the stay confortable. The little gifts left for us made us feel especially welcome. The jacuzzi, the fire place, the sports equipment… but most importantly the luxuriant plants, birds, butterflies surrounding us were magical! The viewing deck of the Amalu property allowed us to admire the scenery further. The welcome was warm, our questions answered quickly and the recommendations highly appreciated (notably Kapi Kapi restaurant and the nature walks guided by George Junior).

The pictures didn’t even do this place justice! Absolutely STUNNING views - west facing property made for the most magical sun sets (from the hot tub no less). Facilities were beautifully designed, everything you could need was there (including thoughtful snacks/ coffee w/ milk and other goodies). Hosts were very responsive and helpful. I will be dreaming of this place for a long time - can’t recommend staying here enough.

The Hotel is with a great view in the mountains, we enjoyed the hot tub outside and very fresh air. It is a great hotel to stay with. The staff are very nice and helpful as well.

Nothing, well, the road going up is pretty steep and rutted, but so worth it!

Beautiful location, amenities were appreciated; Prosecco, snacks, drinks, soaps, lotions, hair care, bathrobes, just everything! The hot tub and deck were fantastic! The staff was so responsive and helpful!
