It was lacking atmosphere a little bit, and the manager (who is a very kind and helpful man) runs another business, so he's not always immediately available. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, but the is a fan which worked well. Honestly though, for the price, and for the location and quality and cleanliness, this is a great deal.

Asha Hostel has wonderful new facilities - the beds, the common area, internet connection, bathrooms, kitchen, everything is new and clean and well-kept. The price is unbeatable.

Staff were not really around, it was frustrating I found myself constantly trying to look for someone to help me, at one point I was sent to a restaurant to find the owner. We were there for 5 nights and were never asked if we needed new towels, bins changed or anything. The owner said it was a new hostal but it all felt quite old, the taps were unstable, the toilet seat was broken, there was random old luggages in our bathroom, the bath was nice but felt unnecessary. The kitchen needs somewhere to put drying dishes otherwise it just leaks everywhere

We stayed for 5 nights in the apartment room, it was spacious with a a well equipped kitchen. It was very comfortable and we had a great time in fortuna.

I got the private room which was very spacious and included a kitchen. Had a nice homey feel. Maintenance needed in some areas, ex. Stools were falling apart, some of the taps weren't sealed in so they flopped around and kitchen cleaning supplies were well used. New hostel so there weren't many people but staff were awesome!

Top Hostel with comfortable beds! They got a nice chill bar next to the hostel and everything in town is pretty easy to reach. Warm showers as well and the owner is committed for everything! Addiotionally they got the best kitchen knives i used during my trip so far ;)

Comfy and big beds with own lamp and electric socet and big storage for bag next to te bed. Warm and clean showers. Owner was great, he helped us a lot. He took us to free hot springs which was really nice.

If they can build a minibar or a place to watch TV in the back will be great!

The dorm has only a fan, no AC. Could be bad if we were more than 2 in the 8-person dorm. The bathroom (sink + mirror) is basically located in the reception, which is kinda weird.

Location is sufficiently good, short walk from the centre. The dorm I had was nice, with lots of room (shelves) to organize my stuff. Showers are pretty nice, with good shower gel supplied by hostel. Staff is helpful and price is decent.

The owner is a very interesting and friendly person, the place is amazing, you feel at home. Yhere is a beautiful garden. And it's very cheap.

It's strange but some furniture and finishing are new but at the same time seems very old and/or not properly done.

I had the place for myself, no one else. November is still low season. The hostel has good facilities, nice garden, parking in front and it's located less than 10mins away from the center by foot. It has a huge potential, some areas seem new but some stuff needs to be fixed and/or replaced.

Nothing really, there was a small leakage after one crazy rainstorm, but that was in the bedroom we didn't use and it was only close to the window.

We rented a 9 square meter private room, but ended up with an entire appartement for the 2 of us. The staff was really nice and the owner has some great stories about all his travels!

At night it was a bit warm. One fan that didn’t reach all beds. A few mosquitos at night too.

Owner was super helpful with everything. Close to town. Nice hot showers.

Mold growing on ceiling tiles, not a good or healthy sleep, no blanket, AC but blowing right on the bed, no cover just a sheet. Plumbing moderately messy up. Downtown location, walkable

Me and my friend stayed at Asha Hostel for 4 nights. We had such a fun time here. The owner is truly a kind and helpful person. He helped us with everything we wanted to do, always had good advice and recommendations. He even took us out at night to some party places and the hot springs! Also, the bartender Charlie is one of the funniest and nicest people we met in Costa Rica. Both the owner and bartender would look out for us everywhere we went. Best experience we had!! So much fun!!

They charged you with a highet rate of currency, for example it was 8 usd per night(taxes included) but you have to pay 4200colon instead of 4000, I asked it the reason but with no answer

The hostel seems to be not yet finished. There are no curtains so the street lantern was shining in my face the whole time. The beds are comfortable but it feels a bit like a mattress on the ground (lower bunkbed), the rooms do not really have real doors but curtains and I did not see any lockers. The showers are not very private. You shower behind a curtain and there are no hooks for your clothes so you have to get out of the shower to undress and dress. The showers are seperate for females and males, but still if you do not feel comfortable being naked around others it is not really ideal. The toilets were not all working and not every toilet had toilet paper.

The hostel was quiet and it was not that expensive, though for the same price you can get better options.

I believe they're upgrading a few things further and will offer cooked meals (a good thing), but there was some building work while I stayed, so a bit loud. It's a good price though, compared to other places nearby that cost more for less space, so I won't complain. I'll probably return next time I'm in La Fortuna, so we'll see how it looks when the work is done.

Quite a few backpackers passing through La Fortuna stopped off during my stay. I travelled elsewhere for a bit and returned. Has a good kitchen, clean although basic rooms, very good location in the town. The owner gave good prices on activities. Laundry facilities are cheaper than elsewhere. Ask the owner about his travels, if you see him. Mattresses were more comfortable than they look. Garden is beautiful with many birds in the morning.

Small room without ac or window (only a fan), no lockers, the dorms weren't that clean and and the access to the room is through the reception so sometimes they kinda see you walking out of the shower if the door is not closed

Good location just on the main street, stuff were nice and welcoming and took the time to give recommendations or answer questions, good choices of restaurants around the area, good value for the money

We really enjoyed our stay here. Very peaceful and quite there. The rooms and all place is spacious and clean, beds are perfect with some private space for yourself. The owner is friendly and helpful. Great spot for backpackers.
