This is a Costa Rica thing rather than the property - when taking showers, water temperature abruptly changed to hot/cold, we think based on usage at the property. Something to beware of.

The place was very cool, easy to find, nice, ample bedrooms with a private balcony, lots of green and trees to look at while listening to the sea. Everyone was very friendly and attentive, service was amazing, and there were even a dog and cat happy to greet us.

A personal preference would be for a vegetarian option on the dinner menu - the restaurant made me a dish on my first night which was lovely

Everything about this place was exceptional. Location is incredible, rooms with huge balcony overlooking the beach - amazing . Staff all great. Bed was comfortable, shower great. Rate this so highly.

Would be nice to charge meals and drinks to rooms. Outside dining area could use more brick walking paths to keep sand off of feet and sandals after using outside showers.

Fantastic. Best location on the west coast! Great staff. Love low key places with a killer location, nice rooms, and friendly staff. Much better than a large resort.

Room was damp and small. Not an "open space with windows to the green". Ours was adjacent to the kitchen with slamming doors. (allegedly you can ask for the upper floor with a nice veranda while booking - sadly we have learned it only during the check in). Fortunately we could spend the day on the beach.

THE beach hotel in the Manuel Antonio area. Special sunbeams and umbrellas dedicated to the hotel guests only (and free). Truly enjoyed the beach life. Rooms and open-air restaurant with direct access to the beach. Lots of animals on the beach, hence no need to go to the national park ;)

Loved the place and especially the location. Great room and amenities. But the view was so nice and hearinand seeing the ocean from the bed and of course terrace felt special. Close to the beach, restaurants and the park. Just perfect. Also very friendly staff.

Super nice hotel, with great rooms and friendly staff. The hotel has a beachfront, a restaurant with good vegan options and it’s walking distance to Manuel Antonio (10 mins tops). Definitely recommended!

breakfast could be a bit earlier, didn’t have a chance to enjoy because my adventures had me out be 7:30 am every morning, right when the kitchen opened.

My stay at Buena Vista was wonderful. The location is unbeatable - just steps from the beach and a short walk to the national park. My room had a big balcony with a lovely view of the beach. There are beach chairs with umbrellas and towels for guests to use. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. They have servers on the beach so you don't have to stop sunbathing to get food or drinks. Room was nice and comfortable.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Right on the beach. We enjoyed sitting on our spacious deck and watching the monkeys who occasionally swung through. On rainy evenings the restaurant were happy to provide room service (umbrellas only covering tables.) Service staff were excellent.

If I could give this hotel an "11+" I would. From the moment we booked, the experience was great. We were contacted by the staff soon after booking. Any time I had any question, someone was very quick to get back to me. We were greeted by the friendly staff and were made to feel welcome during our two day stay. A quick text and we were able to arrange a tour to Manuel Antonio NP and also a zip lining tour. We had rooms 800 and 801 on the 2nd floor facing the beach. Awesome views. The rooms were very clean, beds were super comfortable, and the A/C was appreciated. Beach towels are also provided. Wi-Fi works very well. Breakfast is included but we were off early for our NP tour so they arranged for a large bowl of fruit for breakfast. Breakfast our 2nd day was DELICIOUS!! Kudos to the whole staff!!! FYI there is no pool but the lovely beach with lounge chairs and canopies was a one minute walk away. We hope to return next year!!

Don’t come looking for nightlife. Manuel Antonio goes dark around 8:00

The hotel is right on the beach, with its own tiki bar for drinks and snacks. Rooms are very comfortable, with excellent AC. The staff is friendly and helpful. Lots of wildlife to be seen from the balcony, including macaws, monkeys and sloths. The beach is popular with CR tourists and locals, so it has a chill, family-friendly vibe

We expected more privacy. This hotel is basically a room by the beach and the restaurant is a beach restaurant for anyone.

The room was comfortable and immaculately clean with a powerful A/C. The bathroom was a good size with a nice shower. The room has a little private terrasse which we enjoyed. Also lovely greenery around and very good access to the restaurant and beach. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Dinner was excellent.

Room sizes are given INCLUDING the large balcony so we ended up in a room of just 17sqm instead of the advertised 64sqm that we booked. After some discussion they found a way to compensate for that (and this rating excludes the trouble we had around that). Breakfast is mediocre but ok. Many things feel like “half finished” while they would really have potential if running the place with some more dedication (we got an early breakfast box but the cutlery was missing, the beach shower get’s turned off express the beach time really is over, some towels are missing… all solvable problems but it adds up)

Greta location just next to the beach with the national park in walking distance. Modern and clean. Large balcony.
