Reviews of Bungalows Las Iguanas Arenal Volcano

You are treated as part of their family. The bungalows are beatiful. You are part of the nature even when you are inside. It has glass almost everywere. The Jacuzzi is a plus when you come back from tours and walking all day.

Loved the seclusion of the bungalow and the overall set up! We loved the hot tub feature on the deck!

We loved everything about it! We got there when it was raining, so could not truly see the beauty of the property. In the morning before we left, we were able to look around.

The hottub was nice.

No cleaning during your stay. Especially for the bathroom/toilet it would have been nice if there was a basic “cleaning service”. Also limited cooking possibilities. No microwave even though it was mentioned.

Beautiful location, quite a long way out of La Fortuna but that suited us as we wanted remote. The grounds as just amazing, very well maintained gardens, and we loved sitting in the outside kitchen area watching the hummingbirds with a morning coffee. Didn't use the hot tub but it seemed like a nice luxury to offer. Breakfast was good. Rooms had everything you needed. Loved our stay there!

If you are planning on doing a lot of activities around La Fortuna/Arenal be aware that this property is a 20min drive away from anything (on fairly busy, pot-holed roads). (We were happy with that but might catch others out.)

Beautiful bungalows right in nature - gorgeous sounds and views

Beautiful location, just a bit outside of Arenal, which gave us some more chill time. The room was a bit old, but still really nice. The staff was super helpful and welcoming.

Location was great, close to everything that I had booked. Very good communication, quick replies. The manager/owner went out of his way to come by the property with a card reader for payment. He then suggested a few options for excursions.

Very clean and it was above expectations. I got foodpoisoning the day before i got here and the owner is so kind and helped us with everything. Definetly a good place to spend your days.

The bungalow is super cozy, AC works perfectly and has all the facilities need for a relax stay. My bungalow had 2 king size beds but we used only one, it’s great for maybe a group of 4 persons too. The hot tub also was great and perfect for a day after a lot of hikes. The view, the colors, the green areas, are beautiful and give a excelente view from the bungalow terrace.

I can't say enough good things about Bungalows Las Iguanas — this place is truly a hidden gem within a 20-minute drive from La Fortuna, Costa Rica! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality by the incredible hosts, who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Their local knowledge, helpful recommendations, and genuine kindness made us feel right at home. The bungalows themselves are charming, clean, and perfectly nestled in nature. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was tucked into a quiet section of forest for a restful sleep. Parking on site was a breeze, Wi-Fi was fast for checking emails, and the kitchen was well equipped with a Costa Rican coffee maker, refrigerator, kettle, and even a rice cooker. The shower was warm and towels were plentiful. We could hear nearby horses and roosters, and enjoyed the natural wonders of the property within a quick walk. We loved seeing the banana trees! Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, sipping tea on the patio, and enjoying the hot tub every night was an experience us three girls will never forget. We felt safe on the property, and enjoyed the privacy this space offered compared to other properties we considered. Not to mention, we were well fed! The complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious every single morning — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared by our hostess. It was the perfect way to start each day. If you're looking for a peaceful, authentic, and unforgettable stay in Costa Rica, Bungalows Las Iguanas is it. We can't wait to come back for another girl’s trip in the near future! Places we recommend: Two Little Monkeys chocolate farm experience Nanku Restaurant for lunch Spectacolar Cantina for dinner and karaoke La Cascada El Salto for a rope swing and swimming experience Vita Café for the best coffee around Restaurante Los Rodríguez for a soda you won’t forget El Choyin hot springs – go in the morning!

There was truly nothing more we could ask from the hosts!

Breakfast was good. We used a rental car to navigate to La Fortuna which was about a 15-25 min drive depending on where you were going. The room was very clean. Our bungalow was the one with the pool which was closest to the street. I would definitely rent from them again, but would choose one further off the road (any of the others) due to noise from cars driving by at night. However, I am a very light sleeper. Very friendly staff! The bungalow itself is adorable and is super close to a few restaurants and a grocery store (closer than La Fortuna).
