The negative for us was no hot water in the shower. That evening as I was ready to get into it and couldn't get hot water, I did not want to get dressed to complain, so I rinsed off. The following morning my husband wanted hot water for shaving. We told the woman about the problem and she said she would have a guy look at it. No one did, so we never did have hot water, which was annoying. My husband checked the hot water heater behind the cabin and said it appeared to have been off for along time. Perhaps they never have hot water.

I like to stay at a hotel that has a restaurant and bar on site, which this one did, tho the bar seemed limited. The woman at check-in told me dinner was at 7pm but we were hungry and asked and she cooked dinner for us much earlier as we had missed lunch. The meal was decent. A hearty breakfast was served. The cabin was roomy and comfortable, decent beds and pillows. We also liked the quiet location. It was 4km north of Liberia just off the highway, but was far enough off on a quiet back road that we heard no road noise and it was more rural so no neighbor noise. The property was fenced, plenty of parking. There was a kid themed pool area tho we did not use it

Pool was white, like could not see your feet. Food there was amazing. Especially the shrimp fettuccine. The rooms were descent. Nice little spot. If it weren’t for the pool I would have rated this a 9. Ps. We swam anyways and no one had issues

The kitty Luna made our stay perfect! We were missing our own kitty's. The facility was beautiful very popular with locals on the weekend. Food great staff helpful. The manager took us to the airport at 4am!

We needed a place near enough to the Liberia airport to bookend our trip arriving and leaving. This place was perfect. If you appreciate wood craftsmanship in building, you will love these cozy cabanas. They put so many artistic and creative touches into the buildings, the pool area, the grounds that we felt very at home and the pride and fun of creating a family business was felt very much at La Teca. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows and bedding just right. Towels crisp (as they are when they have been hung in the sunshine to dry) La Teca is the type of place where we feel more comfortable that say, a bland beige hotel room in an international chain hotel. We also loved the orange kitten that was hanging around-every private hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica had a hotel kitty whether they wanted one or not. But he was a really sweet guy and he got some pets and snacks from us. These things make us feel like home. Highly recommend this place if you are the down home type of folks like we are. Very family friendly, fenced and gated, super fun pool with waterfall, open lawn and picnic tables, some cabanas have lofts with beds up top and ladders going up. Kids were playing soccer in the the yard until just after dark then it was very quiet all night.

There were no toiletries in the bathroom and our garbage didn’t get taken out after the first night so there were some ants getting at it. The breakfast portions weren’t huge, they were decent but we could have eaten a little more.

The rooms were the cutest cabins. They were big and ours had bunk beds and 2 double beds. The garden was so nice, there was a friendly cat, the breakfast was yummy and the pool was fun.

The pool wasn't has expected the water looked OK but could of been cleaner over-all feel wasn't the same as in the pictures as the paint aged a little and wasn't maintained.

As we arrived late, one of the staff members took us back to liberia so we could grab some food it was really appreciated as the hotel kitchen closed a 7pm I went for some drinks while we waited for our food to be ready and got to try the cassic chilligaro with is one of their specialty shots Breakfast and dinner was great and staff is friendly, we loved the cabanas we were in! Alcohol available on site Good spot to start of the trip in Costa Rica

No glasses in the cabin. The family plate had lots of fried foods and tough pork. The service in the evening was slow. One of the staff had to rouse our waiter for us.

Tica families were enjoying the property. The gardens were lovely. The beds were comfortable except for the pillows. The cabin was clean and spacious. The breakfast was good.

Nothing. We stayed only one night and left early in the morning. It was what I expected.

It looked like the locals enjoy the place very much. We arrived to lively music and a few families with kids enjoying the pool.

There was very little water pressure and we only got intermittent hot water in the shower but this wasn’t a problem. You will need a car to get to and from this property.

This lovely little property is off the beaten track. It is nice but basic. I would recommend it if you want something family run, at a good cost, and don’t require polished luxury. Each room is a stand alone unit and there was a large amount of space in our family unit. They offer local style breakfast and some nice options for dinner. Liberia is only a 10 minute drive away for other dinner options.

Bathroom had a bad smell from the shower curtain. The bathroom was small for the amount of people the room could accommodate. Need some better signs directing to the place.

The place is definitely a bit out of the way and a little difficult to find especially at night. It is off the main road onto some very local unpaved roads. The facility was good but the bathroom was a bit small. The bathroom was overall clean but the shower curtain was in serious need of replacement. It had a bad smell that filled the bathroom. The breakfast was good and very typical of a costa rican breakfast. The host John was very nice and gracious, was very helpful with information about the local attractions. The pool was nice and clean but we did not use the pool.

Our cab driver was laughing and kind of scared to drop us off. Getting to the location is off-putting. The property is lovely once you arrive. However, on a hot day, there is not enough room to sit at a table in some shade. The large kitchen area doesn't have kitchen furniture. The pool area was adorable and great for family fun but the water seemed filthy and all three of us felt sick the next day. Despite that, I would return in the off season if I had a rental car.

The cabins themselves are just beautiful!! Very clean and very comfortable with excellent washroom and air conditioning. The woodwork is really beautiful. The staff was very helpful and fun. The locals had a terrific family day in the pool.

The room had a lot of dust and debris. The location was a bit disappointing - the unpaved access road had a challenging surface to negotiate in a 2-wheel drive car, and the area around the hotel grounds had a lot of rubbish.

Nice hot shower and good air con. The bed was comfy and we liked the fact that the veranda had a mosquito screen.

We arrived after dark, and there was very little outdoor lighting. It wasn’t until the morning that we could find our way around and see where we were. The cabana was not outfitted with plates, silverware, or even cups, even though there was a full kitchen.

We stayed during an emergency extra night when the airline failed us. Hotels were hard to come by so we jumped on it when it came up on our search. The cabana was clean and the beds were comfortable. There is a fun outdoor dining area and pavilion , and even though no other guests were around, we were able to order delicious dinners and some cold beers. The landscaping is beautiful and the casual setting helped us relax after a stressful day.

The cabanas and outdoor area were really nice, and very well maintained. The pol area was like a mini waterpark, Our 3 year old grandson loved it. The food at the restaurant was exceptional, amd the owners/staff were friendly and welcoming.

The location is quite industrial, so you get here over a dirt road and they close the gate at 10pm so there is no way in or out again. We were there on a Sunday, where it seems non residents come to party, swim and drink. It was loud and there was no place to sit. Can't blame them for making extra money that way, but the pool was very soggy that evening then.

having our own cottage was great - it was spacious and clean. The pool and area were great for the kids to hang out. They had a restaurant and food there was good, but you have to come with the expectation that it won't be there in 10 mins - basically the waiter is the cook and he makes one meal after the other. Food was good and very reasonably priced for the portions. The beds were comfortable and plenty of room. The cottage even had a TV.
