Reviews of Hotel Cabanas La Teca 4 stars

I loved the cabin like feeling. The lively music during the day & the peaceful nights. I even enjoyed the rooster& conga monkeys waking us up in the morning.

I like to stay at a hotel that has a restaurant and bar on site, which this one did, tho the bar seemed limited. The woman at check-in told me dinner was at 7pm but we were hungry and asked and she cooked dinner for us much earlier as we had missed lunch. The meal was decent. A hearty breakfast was served. The cabin was roomy and comfortable, decent beds and pillows. We also liked the quiet location. It was 4km north of Liberia just off the highway, but was far enough off on a quiet back road that we heard no road noise and it was more rural so no neighbor noise. The property was fenced, plenty of parking. There was a kid themed pool area tho we did not use it

The negative for us was no hot water in the shower. That evening as I was ready to get into it and couldn't get hot water, I did not want to get dressed to complain, so I rinsed off. The following morning my husband wanted hot water for shaving. We told the woman about the problem and she said she would have a guy look at it. No one did, so we never did have hot water, which was annoying. My husband checked the hot water heater behind the cabin and said it appeared to have been off for along time. Perhaps they never have hot water.

Nice staff and the cabana was clean and totally comfortable for a night in passing.

Food was way overpriced. They also said that breakfast was available until 11 but were wrapped up when we got there at 10:30.

The cabin was clean. AC worked perfectly. Pool worked. It was good and affordable one nite sleepover before morning flight.

Pool was white, like could not see your feet. Food there was amazing. Especially the shrimp fettuccine. The rooms were descent. Nice little spot. If it weren’t for the pool I would have rated this a 9. Ps. We swam anyways and no one had issues

The kitty Luna made our stay perfect! We were missing our own kitty's. The facility was beautiful very popular with locals on the weekend. Food great staff helpful. The manager took us to the airport at 4am!

The staff was very friendly, the food and drinks were great, they had upbeat, fun music playing during the day (which I felt like created a nice atmosphere), and the cabin was very comfortable! My family and I are very happy we chose to stay here. Also, the staff gave an excellent restraunt recommendation to go to Bar Restaurante Chaparrastique- Restaurante Chaparrastique once the kitchen at the hotel had closed. This restraunt is down the road from Hotel Cabanas La Teca, and, again, we were met with an awesome staff, amazing food, and the drinks were great at this restaurant! Some of the best food we had the entire time we stayed in Costa Rica. I'm super happy with our whole experience! Next trip we definitely want to stay longer than 1 night at Hotel Cabanas La Teca. We stayed here because it's so close to the airport.

waking up to the sound of so many birds!! Setting reminded me of summer camp facilities.

WIFI was only at the restaurant which was inconvenient especially needing to use google translate. It was farther from town than I thought, actually a ways out on a dirt road which made arriving after dark a little unnerving.

We needed a place near enough to the Liberia airport to bookend our trip arriving and leaving. This place was perfect. If you appreciate wood craftsmanship in building, you will love these cozy cabanas. They put so many artistic and creative touches into the buildings, the pool area, the grounds that we felt very at home and the pride and fun of creating a family business was felt very much at La Teca. The beds were very comfortable, the pillows and bedding just right. Towels crisp (as they are when they have been hung in the sunshine to dry) La Teca is the type of place where we feel more comfortable that say, a bland beige hotel room in an international chain hotel. We also loved the orange kitten that was hanging around-every private hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica had a hotel kitty whether they wanted one or not. But he was a really sweet guy and he got some pets and snacks from us. These things make us feel like home. Highly recommend this place if you are the down home type of folks like we are. Very family friendly, fenced and gated, super fun pool with waterfall, open lawn and picnic tables, some cabanas have lofts with beds up top and ladders going up. Kids were playing soccer in the the yard until just after dark then it was very quiet all night.

The breakfast was hearty and homemade, and the host was very accommodating and friendly. The accommodations are simple and rustic, which was what we wanted. A/C worked well!

The rooms were the cutest cabins. They were big and ours had bunk beds and 2 double beds. The garden was so nice, there was a friendly cat, the breakfast was yummy and the pool was fun.

There were no toiletries in the bathroom and our garbage didn’t get taken out after the first night so there were some ants getting at it. The breakfast portions weren’t huge, they were decent but we could have eaten a little more.

I just love staying as I did 5 years ago. The owner is awesome but unfortunately was not here this time. If you’re coming to Liberia and want to stay close to the airport in a super cool spot, this is it. Cold beer upon our arrival is always a bonus.

Location was in middle of nowhere down a long dirt road. I unfortunately had to pay as it was non refundable but I did not stay here. I don't believe that this hotel should even be on Booking.com as it is not up to your standards and is not even a 1 star let alone a 3. This place is surrounded by dirt and currently under construction as well.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Price was affordable. Remote and quiet.

Could use some maintenance and repair. Everyone got bed bugs😷

The room was clean and big enough for our family of 5. We had plenty of space to get comfortable. Everything worked really well in our cute private cabin. The breakfast was delicious and was a great portion.

The pool was a little dirty with fallen debris but other than that it was great.
