Family-owned property with a home touch. Friendly and down to earth. We really enjoyed our stay and they were able to help us book all the tours we wanted. I would definitely recommend!

Wi Fi was a bit patchy but this seemed to be a technical issue and Teresa was arranging a Engineer to visit. Also the eating area could have done with one or two more fans as it was quite warm and humid in the evenings

The property is at the edge of the small town, but there is not a huge amount in there to draw you in so we ended up eating at the property on 3 of our 4 evening and the food was always very good. Teresa was a lovely host and Derek looked after us very well in the evenings. We had two early morning starts to Corcovado and Cano Island and breakfast was made available before we left. On our last day they also made up a nice lunch that we took on the more local Drake Bay hike and enjoyed that on a perfect beach.

Unfortunately the nature of Drake Bay is people drive with ATVs and 4x4s which can be quite loud. And since this spot is right on the road, it felt like trucks were driving in our room at times. An otherwise peaceful place, but the road was a disturbance all through the night.

The staff are amazing, friendly and accommodating. They booked night tours for us, coordinated a taxi to and from the ferry, and organized the ferry. The spot along the little inlet is lovely with small birds, geckos, parrots all there to greet you!

We really enjoyed our stay, the room was comfortable and the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. The location was great as we could walk along the beach to the Drake Bay centre, plus we saw lots of interesting birds by the little stream beside the hotel. Would definitely choose this hotel again.

Friendly, family feel and very close to nature. Convenient for seeing wild life all around and felt no need to go elsewhere for meals that were always of a good standard. Excellent service. Teresa was always helpful and her good English made it possible to have many good conversations.

This place was great, loved the balcony and view of the creek area. The host was very nice and let us keep our car parked here while we did an overnight in Corcovado. Restaurant is very good too.

The property is in a beautiful location by the river and close to the beach. You are able to spot amazing wildlife from the river area. The staff are amazing and they made sure we had transportation from the airport and back before our trip began. The breakfast is amazing and they even accommodated making breakfast at 5am for us as we had a Corcovado excursion. Really great place.

We had a great stay. The room was cleaned every day and especially the bed was super comfortable and huge! All the people working there were very friendly and helpful. We could even borrow refillable bottles for the Corcovado Nationalpark :-) From our balcony we could spot a lot of wildlife like King Fishers, Crocodiles, Humming birds etc.

The wifi is was unreliable.

The property is located next to a creek and it’s loaded with bird life — especially early in the morning when the kingfishers are active. The rooms are impeccably clean (gracias Amy!) and Teresa and the rest of her staff are wonderful. All of my needs were anticipated e.g., transfers to and from the hotel. The rooms have a fridge, kettle, air conditioner, hair dryer, etc! I didn’t want for anything. The best food I had during my two-week tour of Costa Rica was at the El Tortugo restaurant at the hotel. The staff there are all lovely, too. Pura vida ❤️

Nothing! It’s a little walk from the centre of town (~10 mins) but I didn’t mind that and thought it was worth it to be in a more secluded spot.

The property had a really lovely relaxed vibe. Theresa was an amazing host and was so helpful booking trips etc. and was always available via WhatsApp for support. The food at the adjacent restaurant was great. I ended up eating there every meal.

Power went out twice during our stay. This might be more of an infrastructure issue with the town more than the hotel in particular. It stayed out for a few hours.

The property is very close to the beach along an inlet leading to the ocean. Lots of trees and various plants which attract birds, lizards, etc. walk to the main part of town where most of your excursions start is just about ten minutes. Amy the manager was very helpful and friendly with everything.

One staff member fed the crocodiles which is not necessarily good for nature and the ecosystem.

We could leave our luggage when going to Corcovado for an overnight hike, that was really great. They are very friendly and the restaurant is lovely!

The lighting in the room was quite bright and harsh. Maybe some optional lighting sources would help.

The room was large and comfortable. The personal patio right outside the room was a great outdoor space to relax and watch birds and we saw some great birds from here. Good restaurant with a nice menu was very accommodating of providing meals beyond their regular hours. Cheerful and responsive staff made arrangements for a bird walk and beach transportation for our arrival and departure.

The room is quite minimalist, could have more pillows. Didn’t have a safe (or it didn’t work).

The beautiful setting of the hotel, it looks over a small river surrounded with trees and birds. A/C was excellent, staff was lovely and helpful. Food was tasty, the hotel added to my love for Drake Bay. It’s quite charming but understated.

All our excursions were arranged in advance by the kind and incredibly helpful staff. Our room was comfortable,clean and had air-conditioning. Restaurant on site was very good. Breakfast had to be ordered in advance and was always ready at the agreed-upon time. Dinner was excellent as well. Very close to the beach where the boats picked you up for excursions.

Proximity to the beach. Short walk from downtown. Well maintained with an excellent porch for afternoon relaxing. A surprisingly good restaurant located on the premises with breakfast available as early as 5 a.m. for those early departures.

Wonderful, friendly & helpful people. Very nice cabin. Best restaurant & chef (Chef Oscar!) in Drake Bay. Easy access to the beach. The village just 500 meters down the beach or up the road. Nice market & nice laundry close. Great tours arranged by the lodge.
