Elisa and her mother were wonderful hosts! Extremely friendly, have great local recommendations and made me feel welcome as part of the family straight away. The house is very peaceful and a great place to relax, with easy access to Playa Negra, several local bars and a short walk to the centre of Cahuita and Cahuita National Park. You can see numerous animals in the surroundings (I saw a little Capybara 🥹). Casa Aldirica is a fantastic place to stay and I would whole-heartedly recommend it! Pura Vida 😊

The location is just the best-- RIGHT near the black sand beach and then a walking distance from other beaches and restaurants. Staff was really helpful in providing tour companies and personal numbers for booking excursions. Cute animals around the property- cats, agutis, toucans, and iguanas.

Nothing was bad really, except we were given glasses of water that wasn't clean to drink

    Property response:

Lauren really forgive me, but I didn't notice. I always wash everything but here the water has a lot of lime and sometimes it leaves a white halo, sorry again.

Lovely place, beautiful guesthouse with very kind and helpful hosts. Perfect location by Playa Negra. Nice garden, hammocks on the shared wrap around upper veranda. Very clean and serene. Nice touches like a shared refrigerator and coffee maker. Excellent value. Would definitely recommend and will absolutely return!

Nothing negative, but a couple of things to note... More of a personal preference thing, but I found the mattress a bit too firm for my taste. Also, while the other guests there were nice and quiet, you can hear through the walls, so this is not a place for parties or overly passionate couples!

It’s a clean authentic place a few steps away from Playa Negra. Elisa, the owner of Casa Aldirica, is very nice and friendly (and her mom as well). The house is surrounded by tropical trees. There are several cats who walk around the house. A family of guatusa (agouti) lives nearby. They visit the property pretty often. I also heard howler monkeys every night. My husband and I both enjoyed our stay at Elisa’s house. If we’re coming back to the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica, we will definitely try to book Casa Aldirica again.

Of course, it’s not the owner’s fault, but there’s a crazy rooster nearby. He starts crowing in the middle of the night, and won’t shut up until sunrise. The rooster crows so loudly that earplugs don’t help. Consider this info if you’re a light sleeper. During my stay, there were some issues with water pump. It wasn’t a big deal.

Great and new place with very friendly owners. There are some animals which you cam spot in the garden. Its a bit of a walk to the center of town but playa negra is very close by.

Excellent location to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. It’s a birder’s paradise with lots of birds and wildlife visible from the deck and beautiful garden. Owner is very nice, attentive and helpful. Just renovated with good taste and mosquito screens so you can sleep with windows open and hear the wildlife and the waves.

A 15 minutes walk from the city center and park entrance, not a problem for us though…
