The faucet handle in the main bathroom shower was very hard to navigate to get the right temperature. We stayed at a two bedroom villa, but the only seating was in the open air with one table and chairs. It would be nice to add a chair or two in the master so at least you could sit somewhere in air conditioning. The lock to the master bedroom door probably needs to be replaced.

Nice breakfast choices. The property was lovely and felt very secure and tropical. Good size rooms and bathrooms. The location was excellent. Close enough where we could walk into downtown or nearby restaurants. Walking distance to the El Salto rope swing and very close to La Fortuna Waterfall too. Using WhatsApp to communicate with the front desk was very convenient and they were very quick to respond.

There was nothing not to like! My husband would like tobsee pancakes on the breakfast menu, but that's about all!

This resort is exceptional in every way. The grounds are beautiful, and we saw monkeys and a yellow-throated toucan in the trees. The rooms are lovely, the beds are so comfortable, and the outdoor kitchen we shared with our kids was a great place to gather for pizza, cocktails, etc. The staff were all extra helpful and friendly, especially Katherine, but everyone was great. Our reservations included a full breakfasr from a menu of diverse and delicious choices. Our group of 10 also had two delicious dinners at the restaurant. The amenities are superb, with two pools and jacuzzis, two paddle tennis courts, a small soccer field, and ping pong. Our family group of 10, ages 8 to 78, were blown away, and would return here eagerly. We saw monkeys and sliths while rafting the Balsa and Parapiqui, more monkeys great birds atMistici Hanging Brudges, "canyoned" which was mostly fun rappelling, and went to a sloth sanctuary tobsee mom's and babies. So much to do and such a nice stay at Hotel Boiutique Casa del Rio!

The breakfast was ok but got a little boring after a few days

We really loved it here. Very clean and comfortable. We watched a while group of monkeys playing in the trees whilst we were swimming. Really enjoyed sitting in the deck relaxing.

Gorgeous setting and incredible staff who go above and beyond. Katherine who worked the front desk was a 💎! Byron, Rollin and all the staff in the restaurant were exceptional. Such a nice room!

Room config for a family of 5 was not great with an insecure front door to the family room. Al La Carte breakfast was very very slow and provided less options than a decent standard hotel buffet. Given most are doing trips it’s not an ideal setup.

Breakfast was good, a lot of options and most mornings it was great. But one morning my croquet was frozen.

The pescock Cage, but apparently they are rescued peacocks, the owner is a animal lover, and he rescued them from a far were they were being mistreated. That changed my perspective, the cage is still small, dark and depressing.

It’s a very pet friendly hotel, staff is very efficient and warm. Massages are fair in price and good, we almost didn’t even want to leave the place.

The hotel was lovely. Our room was stand-alone, with a private terrace and jacuzzi. Everything was very clean, and the reception and restaurant staff friendly and helpful. We frequently walked to the centre which took about 20 minutes.

Beautiful property! Thermal pool (including smaller ones) were great! Food was good (didn't try the sushi). Would definitely recommend.

This is such a fantastic hotel. A beautiful jungle setting, great pools for adults only and family, wonderful staff and delicious food. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Nothing!!!

So far above our expectations. We tend to stay in moderate hotels when we travel and spend our money elsewhere. This place is phenominal. Absolutely gorgeous. All buildings are camouflaged by jungle and you feel like you are on the show, "White Lotus". The Creek runs through it and you can sleep to water and birds. Ignore the few negative reviews. Everyone worked so hard for us! Rooms excellent and lots of choices at breakfast! Katherine at front desk was so sweet.

Great views of the volcano from the restaurant. Pools were beautiful but hot tub not very hot. The gardens were stunning, well designed and maintained. The hotel maintained a personal feel and communication was easy. The balcony overlooking the rainforest was fabulous. Although room was large there was no hanging space in the wardrobes for shirts/dresses. Breakfast menu was poor and coffee in room was not replenished by housekeeping service - had to ask reception several times.

The pillows were not that comfortable.

I really appreciated the friendliness of the staff and how they assisted with booking tours. The use of the Whatsapp helped with communicating directly with staff and they were timely in their responsiveness. The amenities were great, we really enjoyed the pools and slide.

We had a single bed along with our queen bed and there wasn't any room for chairs. I think the room would have been more comfortable if there was at least 1 chair in the room.

There were several choices for breakfast, some were tradition Costa Rica breakfast along with an American breakfast. The staff was very helpful and the grounds were lovely.

We did wish there were more hooks for hanging wet clothes as things did not dry very well.

We loved our stay at the hotel Boutique Casa Del Rio! The grounds, staff, food, and facilities were amazing! Everything was very clean, and the staff was very responsive whenever we had a question or needed something. The breakfast that was included in this stay was also amazing! We also loved the spa such a great value!
