Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was a beautiful yard and out side of town. You will need a car to get into town but we live in CR and enjoyed just relaxing.

Nestled in the tourist busy surroundings of La Fortuna is this quiet oasis. Casa Yami is bigger than it looks and the surrounding gardens are simply stunning. After a day of exploring all the attractions (you do need a car) we loved having a drink and watching all of the birds from the veranda. Endrius was attentive and quick to respond but also left us to be, which we like. He was incredibly kind and helpful to us, thank you Endrius 🫶

CanadaCan’t think of anything.
The host was very proactive with communicating and welcoming on our arrival. The guest cottage was clean and comfortable and the surrounding landscape was beautiful. This location was close to restaurants but on a quiet street. We had breakfast prepared and served on the veranda. Too much food but it was delicious. We would definitely stay here again when visiting La Fortuna.

MexicoNothing, everything was perfect.
Breakfast was not included, but we paid just 12 dollars for it, which was wonderful. Our host was always gentle and helped us with our doubts about the best activities to do nearby.

GermanyEverything was fine. Maybe “automated” room service every day that also makes the bed would be good. You need a car to town (~10 min)
Beautiful, well maintained garden, super nice host, easy communication, safe area, parking place, new apartment including everything you need for some days in La Fortuna. Noise sensitive people should bring oropax for the night/ morning because of rain and chicken

I had an exceptional stay at Casa Yami Lodge! From the moment I arrived, the host, Endrius, went above and beyond to make my visit unforgettable. He was incredibly attentive and ensured every aspect of my stay was perfect. The room was spotless, and the pictures online are exactly what you can expect when you arrive—no surprises, just beautiful accommodations. The attention to detail in the decor and cleanliness really stood out. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared every morning. While I’m allergic to bananas and the cook wasn’t aware of it at first, I understand it was an honest oversight, and the overall quality of the food was fantastic. What truly sets this place apart is the level of care. My boyfriend came down with a fever one evening, and all the pharmacies were closed. Endrius stepped in, helped us get exactly what we needed, and truly went above and beyond to ensure he was okay. His kindness and resourcefulness meant the world to us. If you’re looking for a place with excellent service, comfortable rooms, and a host who genuinely cares about his guests, Casa Yami Lodge is the perfect choice. Highly recommended!

United StatesThis is such a little oasis! It's a perfect little quiet spot in La Fortuna. Absolutely beautifully decorated and so comfortable! It would be ideal to stay here with a car as it is a drive to get to town. It is in a perfect location for being close to access town and the things to see in La Fortuna but also gives you a private space to enjoy nature and decompress after a day of adventures in La Fortuna! I also cannot get over the kindness of Endrius! You just feel like you're coming to stay at a friends place.

United KingdomEverything was exceptional. The property was new and very clean and well prepared before we came and the towels and sheets smelled fresh. The area around the property was lush and the scenery and the company of a few chickens and a rooster who were peacefully roaming around the property was delightful. The owner was very accommodating and made sure to give us some extra stuff and refill the coffee when we asked him and made sure to not disturb us and to make our stay enjoyable. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to be close to La Fortuna as it is only 10 minutes drive from the main town and close to the Arenal Volcano and all the activities. Thank you

NetherlandsThe only thing that the owner can't do anything about really is that the nature is really loud. I am neurodivergent and I stayed 5 days and even my earplugs didn't help. It drained me. It's a partly open cabin so you can't keep the noise out. I've travelled a month through CR and it was by far the loudest here. Just a heads up for future travellers!
Secluded beautiful garden and very pleasant cabin and not too far from the center of La Fortuna. Everything was well put together in the cabin, the bed was comfy and the shower was nice. Coffee, kettle, cute throw pillow, mood lighting, chickens outside and hanging chair. Lots of birds to see!
