The bathroom does not have enough hangers for towels, and I am not even considering the beach towels, you have to dry them in the terraza. Make sure to bring your own toiletries because the casita only offers hands and body soap. There is not hair dryer (I know it is the beach and the weather is hot, but if you have thick hair as me, at nights your hair will take longer to dry). Sometimes there are electricity outages, so it will be very helpful if the property had some candles in each casita. We experienced two short power outages the first day, but none during the rest of our stay. The rooms inside the casita are the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. Be aware that the living and dinning areas are outside in the terraza. I am not saying that it is something bad, but it was not clear to me in the description of the casita as I booked.

The casita we stayed at has a good storage space. We were two people and we had more than enough place to put our luggage and things. However, in the bedroom there are not enough hangers. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the room has a cute decoration. The room has an air conditioning and also a fan, so you choose which one to use. The casita has a small but functional kitchen with good quality pots, just make sure to bring your own spices (salt, pepper, oil, etc.), as there are none. Be aware that the property does not offer dinning options, that is why every casita has its kitchen. The terraza is a great place to chill out and it includes the dinning and living areas: a wooden dinning benches, armchairs, and a hammock. Each casita has the parking spot right next to it, just be aware that it is not covered. The property includes a nice small swimming pool perfect for relaxing. The property is located on a hill right next to the main road, and 1.5 kilometers from Montezuma downtown. You can hear the cars, but also congos and many birds. If you are lucky, you can also see the guatusas around the gardens or right in front of your casita.

The manager Mercedes was very helpful and genuinely seemed to care about her guests (she stood out in the rain waiting for us to arrive on the first night). Her activity recommendations were great and she helped us navigate the tides and told us how to go see a baby turtles release. She helped organize a surf lesson, which we enjoyed. The welcome booklet was helpful. The casita was comfy and cute and the pool was inviting. The water was hot, plentiful, and safe to drink. The restaurant next door was delicious! It was a 5 min drive to town and close to the main road, so it was easy to get to. We didn't notice too much road noise. They allowed us to store our bags for a few hours after we checked out. If we come back to Montezuma, we'll stay here again.

Some doors / windows wouldn’t shut flush, and we did get a few unwanted insect visitors. Location on top of hill means easy 20 min walk to Montezuma, impossible walk back but bus is good, and we knew all that beforehand.

Beautiful detached bungalow on stilts with massive veranda, situated in a divine jungle style location. Garden / plants were well looked after and pool was a bonus.

    Minimal downsides.

Its location just out of town might be inconvenient for some but it is immersed in nature with mostly (a little traffic noise during the day from the nearby road) a very calm environment with howler monkeys overhead, iguanas, agouti and birds regular visitors. Mercedes, our host, was very welcoming and helpful. Would stay again.

The main bed was a little bit narrow for two people (1.2 m wide) out age. But there was a spare bed.

The surroundings, being able to see wild animals (Aguti, Iguana) and hear the monkeys while sitting on the porch. Very friendly hosts.

that we had to leave ;-)

The bungalow was beautifully decorated, fully equipped (incl. aircon, water filter and European power plugs) and comfortable. The setting is in the middle of a tropical garden. The plants and the distances to the other accommodations provide privacy, even on the big terrace (with hammock etc.). We stayed only for a couple of days, but we felt invited to stay much longer. There is also a pool which our kids enjoyed a lot.

If youre staying a bit longer and cooking, prepare to bring (if youre local) or buy the basics for the kitchen - a little oil, black pepper etc. When i visited, there was only salt.

Casa colores was a DELIGHTFUL place to stay. The little houses are perfect for solo travelers and equally would have been great as a couple or family. Loved lazing around in the hammock, listening to the birds. The property grounds were beautiful - its a paradise. Mercedes was wonderful and as a solo traveller, she answered my Qs kindly about the area and made sure I was comfortable. The pool is a real treat on hot days too!

A bit close to another cabin. Distance into town although we knew this, and this had it’s advantage too of the peacefulness of our stay.

Comfy bed, nice veranda, air con, closeness to nature. The beautiful garden so well tended.

Nothing at all. You do have to bear in mind that the 2km walk down the road into town would be pretty dangerous in the dark because of vehicles, and the cost of a taxi back is about $8 but factor that in and it's fine.

Everything. Honestly, we were so comfortable and loved having birds around us and hearing the howler monkeys from the poolside. The cabin was spot on and, although it's definitely in our "splurge" category for price, we would do it again without hesitation.

The location is perfect! Close to Montezuma where you can find almost everything you need. Cobano is also close enough. The little bungalow/house is amazing! Wooden structure, very cute, individual to have your privacy and silence equipped with everything you need! Mercedes was very helpful and always answered very fast to whatever I asked in what's up whether it has something to do with activities or personal help. I would definitely recommend the place, it will stay forever in our hearts, wish we had more days!

The place is a kilometer outside of downtown Montezuma down a steep but exciting hill. But this was a minor concern as we had a car, and it was very quiet at night.

Mercedes was extremely helpful. The facilities were great - spacious, clean, bright. Everything that one needed. The pool area and over all setting was very pleasant and tropical, and the abundance of friendly iguanas was a treat.
