Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesCheck in was a bit tricky due to language barrier. We arrived after 6pm and there was some confusion on the room location. We sorted it out but took a short while, especially due to language barrier
Simple but more than sufficient. Breakfast was good

Costa RicaPool is amazing, spring water, it is COLD! (and that's fine, just be ready for it). It rained buckets (tremendous thunderstorms) and that's ok, the room held up well.
beautiful room, large and spacious, clean and simple, really nice, great family room and bathroom size. Breakfast is lovely and LARGE, well worth it.

United StatesThe pillows and bed could have been more comfortable.... especially the pillows.
The gardens and property were beautiful!! The pool was clean as was the room. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a bathtub in the room!! Rare in Costa Rica!! The porch had seating and a hammock outside. There are two restaurants within walking distance and we ate at both.... Good food, service and pricing!!

1. Location was perfect for our planned activities. 2. We felt totally integrated into the local (natural) environment. 3. Included breakfast was very good and saved a morning hunt for nourishment. 4. All Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. 5. Lovely pool. 6. Quiet and private. The location is not elegant, just perfect for the area!

United StatesThe room was extremely sparse with a small bedside table and few places to lay anything out. A few hooks on the wall would’ve helped a lot as would small reading lamps over the bed versus just one bright overhead light.
Very helpful ands friendly staff. Very good typical Costa Rican breakfast. Comfortable beds. Pretty outdoor space and pool area. Great location for accessing the National Park.

Costa RicaWi-Fi was only available in the common area where breakfast is served. I was in the room closest to the common area and could not get online. Same can be said for the pool area. I live in Costa Rica and have the main phone service “Kolbi” and still couldn’t get a connection. That’s no fault of theirs. For me, this is a dealbreaker. I wouldn’t stay here again just for that reason. They need to invest into Wi-Fi extenders or it’s a no go.
Great location and beautiful landscaping. Very tropical. Pool was great. Staff was excellent. Very good traditional breakfast.

United StatesHooks to hang wet towels and swimsuits inside and outside of the cabanas. It was very humid when we stayed and there was no where to hang our suits and towels. I would agree with other reviews that the pool is cold but doable.
We were greeted by the host who was pleasant and took us to our cabana. The grounds are gorgeous with beautiful flowers and landscaping. Our cabana was very clean, had a ceiling fan and also a mounted wall fan if necessary. It cools down at night so we only used the ceiling fan. All of the cabanas have their own private backyard that back up to the forest complete with an array of hummingbirds and birds. We had a pair of monkeys entertain everyone at breakfast by climbing all over the trees and playing with each other, they were so much fun to watch for several minutes. There was a coati (similar to a raccoon) trying to get bananas off a hook and it was also entertaining to watch during our breakfast meal. Breakfast options were typical Costa Rican and continental. We went with the typical of rice and beans, bacon, plantains, toast and scrambled eggs with juice and coffee. There isn't a restaurant on-site but there is a soda (Costa Rican restaurant) called Tenory which is about a two minute walk from the resort. We went there for dinner and had amazing meals. We had the typical Costa Rican dinner with rice, beans, excellent grilled chicken, plantain and vegetables. It was delicious! All the paths to the cabanas and pool are handicapped accessible with nice concrete paths. There is a small step-up at the doorway to get inside the cabanas however but easy for a walker or wheelchair to access. There is also an outdoor shower on the backside of the cabanas in addition to the bathtub/shower inside. The Rio Celeste river is about one mile from the resort. The locals swim here and it is called the Rio Celeste Free Pool which is under the bridge. You can park in the road for free. It will come up in Waze and Google Maps. This was a great value for $78/night. We would definitely stay here again in future visits.
