While the style of the chalet is rustic, the upstairs carpet could use replacing. However, the price reflects the condition and overall it was a great value for the 6 of us to stay with plenty of space.

The drive to the hotel was beautiful. We were surprised to find the location was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The included morning breakfast was typical of all the local foods. The staff is very kind and friendly.

The property is surrounded by a lovely garden that attracts lots of birds and butterflies. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great.

There was nothing that we did not like about our stay. Visitors should keep in mind that all conservation-oriented guesthouses will have limitations on hot water use.

Cozy room, magical grounds, delicious breakfast included. Very convenient location - just a few steps to the center of the village: close enough for easy access, but far enough from traffic. Wished we had stayed a little longer.

The only thing is we had a couple of bugs but the hotel provided bug spray for us.

The staff was amazing and super friendly, they communicated with me with quick response time through booking.com. They also booked all excursions and ensured we were picked up in a timely manner. Breakfast was great, and the system they used for seating was very helpful. Lastly, this place is in a great location near a few restaurants and great views.

Great location, 5 7 minutes walk to the downtown area which has a couple of stores and several restaurants. The property has a nice garden. Location is approximately 20 and 25 minutes by car to monteverde and Santa Elena national parks respectively. The team was supportive in giving us late checkout for one of the booked rooms.

The grounds are beautiful, with birds and animals (we saw a skunk!). The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The rooms were spacious and we loved the free coffee that was provided. It’s close to the centre so you can walk to all the restaurants and shops. The staff were incredibly friendly.

Breakfast is really basic and not so tasty. I do not recommend to take it (if the option is offered) and go outside instead.

A little faded around the edges but a great place to stay. Location was a great, easy walk to some good restaurants but away from the bustle. Beautiful gardens, big room with comfortable beds and huge bathroom Breakfast was good in a separate building, very quiet when we stayed so not much ambience. Staff were very nice.

I loved the house and the entire outdoor space. It was gorgeous!! I could have spent my days just sitting in the outdoor space. Lots of things within short walk of the building. Loved the screens on the windows so you could have the fresh air come through but not the bugs and critters. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! I would definitely stay again if I am ever back in the area.

The area has very high winds causing the upstairs rooms to be very noisy. Without A/C, we wanted to open the windows at night but the winds and dogs made it hard to sleep. Not enough hot water for 2 people to shower back to back, The rooms didn’t have a place to put bags on (just a small night stand), so we ended up putting them on the other bed in the room. The outlets were on the walls, but not near the night stand. The power went out nightly due to the high winds - sometimes just a few minutes, but one night it was out for 4 hours. Each room has a flashlight.

There was plenty of parking at this hotel. The check-in staff was friendly and efficient. They gave us a map and lots of information about the town. They showed us their resident sloth, too! The parking lot is secured by a gate at night. We rented the large house for 4 nights. Everything was very clean. The kitchen was stocked with oil, spices, coffee, sugar, etc. It even had some sauces and a fresh bag of ice in the freezer. The mattresses were okay - enough to get a comfortable night’s sleep. There is plenty of counter space in the bathrooms. The hotel has fast free wifi. It’s also a short walk into town. We enjoyed sitting outside relaxing on the porch swings. The staff contacted us after the 3rd night asking if we needed any housekeeping. Despite some of the short comings, we really enjoyed this hotel. We were able to cook some of our own meals with the well equipped kitchen, enjoyed relaxing on our porch hammocks, liked being so close to the town center, and enjoyed being able to spread out in this huge house!
