It was more than we expected or could have imagined.

The setting was easy to access on the road into town. The grounds were spectacular with mountain vistas, fresh ponds, and incredible landscaping. The staff was friendly and welcoming and made us feel so comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were beyond words in terms of choices and level of culinary creativity and experience. Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented on our patio in a jungle setting. Everything we experienced was at a heightened sense of creativity, and honoring Monteverde’s beauty with love. Our cabin shared a wall with another one, and we could hear the family next door. But is was short lived.

The cabins are surrounded by lush vegetation, beautifully decorated with bright colors, and have a comfortable bed. Everything was spotless. As shown in the pictures, the infinity pool is fantastic, with outstanding views. The hotel is well situated, just a short drive to Santa Elena. Javier, who manages the property, was extremely knowledgeable about the area, very helpful, and wonderfully accommodating—a great source of information. Breakfasts were fantastic. One morning, we had to leave very early for an excursion, and they prepared a generous plate of fruit and granola the night before so we wouldn’t miss it.

The road to the property can be bumpy, so try to arrive before dark.

El Sol is on such a beautiful property with amazing views. The cabin is uniquely decorated with comfortable spaces for dining and two patios, two nice sized en suite bedrooms and a living room with sofas and other beds. The staff is amazing and so helpful! Javier helped us when we checked in, gave us a microwave upon request, booked us tours, and helped us find a mechanic when our rental had a flat tire. The resident dogs are super sweet too. We saw butterflies, birds and Javier even pointed out a Toucan in the distance.

The property was a great lodge in a stunning location. The property had everything we needed, and had plenty of space for our family of 5. The pool area was amazing as was the breakfast each day.

This is such a beautiful place and is the best view we have ever had from our room. Javier and the other staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The breakfast was so amazing and huge! We loved the natural springs swimming pool after a day of exploring the cloud forest. Couldn’t recommend this more.

Absolutely nothing - it was the perfect stay.

Javier’s communication before we arrived set the tone for this friendly, comfortable and magical stay. Our cabin was wonderfully decorated and well equipped, the pool was very welcome and the garden offers a perfect spot for sunset. Breakfast was phenomenal and very generous. When asked Javier made multiple suggestions for places to eat and things to do. We made friends with our in casa gecko and loved the parrots that visited most nights.

Nothing we loved it!

We were blown away by the property, the photos really don’t do it justice. Spacious, and beautiful really makes you feel like you are immersed in the cloud forest. Everything is thought of and there. Beds super comfy and showers were great ! Breakfast was also incredible - portions are huge we had to ask for smaller portions on our second day as we don’t like waste! We only had 2 days here but I wish we had planned to stay longer. Javier met us arrival and gave us the tour and any help we needed.

Our stay at El Sol was fantastic and memorable. The cabins are tastefully done and includes modern amenities. the location is serene with great views of the hills and valleys nearby. The place is quiet and tranquil. Javier is a wonderful host who was always there to help us with recommendations on sightseeing and food locations. He was also knowledgeable about the flora and fauna around there. We loved the breakfast and dinner they served - healthy and tasty.

This is a cabin in the jungle without air conditioning. It can be humid and we encountered an impressive spider. Despite these discomforts, our stay at El Sol was one of our families greatest memories of our trip to Costa Rica. Embrace the experience and it's more than worth overcoming any inconveniences.

We stayed in the Sun Chalet. It was enchanting. Our kids loved the layout of the cabin, we all loved the porch with amazing view and hammock, and the artwork and hand-crafted everything was wonderful. Also, just past the pool is a view that is so absolutely stunning in the morning light...our family photos look fake.

We slept very well however the mattresses and pillows could use an upgrade.

El Sol is a beautiful property with unique casitas. We stayed in a two-bedroom with space for two adults and three kids. Breakfast and dinner are delicious and beautifully presented, brought to us in our Casita each day. The property is stunning. And the birding was outstanding. The kids loved the pool. The staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful in every way.

El Sol was a unique place to stay. To be honest, while booking the place i had not paid a lot of attention to the details, hence the excellent amenities came to me as a pleasant surprise. The breathtaking view from the room and the hammock where I and my family spent quality time are precious and memorable. The room was fancy, stylish and very clean with a view to the valley. The room also provides facility to do some cooking if you are up for that. The breakfast was served in the room and were yummy specially with the option for vegan. Overall i will highly rate this place and will recommend. The staff were very humble and at our service 24/7

Absolutely beautiful and calm oasis perched on the hillside with stunning views. Access to everything is only 10 mins or so by car. We felt like we’d arrived in paradise and the sunsets were stunning. Pool area so gorgeous too. Quite a lot of bugs but that’s jungle life! Javier and the team went out of their way to make it a brilliant stay.

2 nights was too little time for this area.

I doubt there is a more beautiful property in Monteverde. The owners have created unique aesthetics and an amazing experience for their guests. The food, service, views and cabin all exceeded our expectations. We would definitely book this again.

There were a few ants in the cabin BUT we were in a cabin in the woods.

The property is stunning. The view is breathtaking, peaceful, and secluded. The check in process was very easy. The dinner and breakfast were wonderful. The staff went above and beyond.
