Nothing. One of the better hostels I’ve been to.

I loved the location of the hostel. The volunteers were fantastic and super helpful. The kitchen was large and well stocked with sharp knives?!?! AC in the rooms were powerful and made for such good sleeps. Boards for rent at the property were in good shape and came in a variety of shapes but not too much diversity in size above 7’.

The only minor suggestion would be to improve the kitchen equipment by adding more pots, mugs, and cups.

A Perfect Spot for Surfers! We stayed in a private room at the hostel, and it was great. The location is fantastic—just a short walk from the beach, restaurants, and the supermarket. The staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist, creating a welcoming, calm and respectful atmosphere. Nights are peaceful, as most guests turn in early to catch the morning waves. We had the chance to meet fellow travelers from all over the world, which added a special touch to our stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we’d definitely come back!

Perfect place!

Great place, I met amazing people there! Good surfing vibe, good kitchen, there is an air conditioner at night in the room and full of fans everywhere.

Best Hostel in Pavones !!! All the staff is amazing and very friendly. The room is confortable, well furnished and the bathroom is quite big with hot water 😀. We met so many great peoples during our 10 days stay at Esperanza. Sharing the well furnished kitchen with them was also always a good moment with them. The Hostel is at 3 minutes by foot to the spot of Pavones. You could rent some surfboard also at the Hostel. Bonus : there were 3 little cute puppies dogs, 2 dogs and one cat. So if you are a pet lover this place is heaven. Thanks again 🥰😀, we will come back one day.

We chose Esperanza for its high ratings in cleanness, location, and bed comfort categories, which are natural priorities for a group of surfers. Besides being very satisfactory in such categories, Charlie and his team made us feel at home. We ended up doing all the activities together, such as cleaning the beach, sharing the waves, cooking dinners, and exchanging ideas with deep conversations, which brought our experience far beyond a simple hostel stay. Esperanza is, for sure the location to go back to catch the next swell.
