The room was fine, all good.

Noise isolation could have been better. There seems to go a train track close by and they use horn during all the night.

Very old hotel but it has been kept updated. Each room is different the standard is sufficient the suite is unique and elegant. Stayed in both, I’d go with the suite!

This is a great hotel in a fabulous location BUT it needs a lot of maintenance.

The door handle was falling off and the shower taps were broken. It took ages to work out how to get water and just as long to work out how to turn the taps off. We had stayed here before and the room was tiny so I upgraded and paid more for the 2nd stay, but didn’t feel like it was an upgrade at all. The only upgrade was two slightly bigger beds than the previous room but the room was no bigger and the bathroom was smaller. I felt the first room was better value for money.

Great location, nice hotel, and good value. Nice common area on 1st floor for playing cards etc.

Noisy (possibly water pumps). Fan wasn’t working but fixed as soon as we reported it. Asked to borrow an iron, which was forthcoming but no board or anywhere to use it. Breakfast - food/juice etc not replenished, and tables not cleared . General attitude of breakfast team could improve.

It was very nice and quite central. San Jose for me not best city to stay in. If ever staying over in SJ again, will choose Fleur de Lys again.

Great check in experience. Our flight arrived past midnight and the front desk was closed but the hotel staff messaged me instructions to get in and they had my keys and room ready once I arrived. We are not picky, but we care about clean rooms and our room was super clean and had everything we needed.

Beautiful, old building with character. Good buffet breakfast.

Right next to a very loud train and some rough parts of town. I was woken up early every day with the train and motorbikes. The toilet barely worked and the bedding had stains.

This is a really lovely hotel. It has a nice feel to it. It's very close to the city centre and the museum. The staff were very friendly.

There are no lifts in the hotel, this didn't worry us, but be prepared you may need to carry your bags up stairs.

Convenient location. Still pretty good value for money. Carolina, the friendly, helpful manager who sorted out the room change. Good Wifi. Fair-good breakfast choice and good service.

Despite booking a double room with twin beds explicitly, we were given a tiny room on third floor with one queensize bed. Upon check-in, I asked the receptionist whether the room had two separate beds for two gentlemen? She said yes and sent us carrying the heavy luggage to third floor (Fleur de Lys does not have a lift). I did not accept the room and we were given room CALA on first floor, a tiny, dark, smelly room without a window but with two beds. I spoke to Carolina, the manager on duty the following morning requesting a room like I saw opposite the room we occupied for the night, matching the pics I saw on this platform too when I booked. Luckily we could change to a very spacey room ACUZECA, happily settling for the second night. Conclusion: Rooms seem to be given randomly and if you are unlucky, you do not get what you saw when you booked. Fleur de Lys is still very good value for money but not when you are given a room which is a totally different category regarding comfort.

    Property response:

This is a beautiful hotel. The reception staff are amazing. The facilities are fantastic. Comfy bed and water bottles provided. Coffee machine plus coffee provided. TV works but in spanish. The room was great for storage had a desk, bedside lamp. Great artwork around the hotel. I felt extremely safe at the location. Breakfast was lovely boiled eggs, coffee, Tea, bread fruit and also Gallo Pinto. I highly recommend that you stay. A good quality hotel as you would expect back home in uk. I would rate this a 4 star. Location wise quite central walking distance to large supermarkets and the central plaza.

That is couldn't stay my last night. Wonderful hotel no complaints at all.
