We thought having air on would be an issue but being able to have the huge windows open at night made it cool enough.

What a gem this hotel was! We really enjoyed staying at the lodge and wish we had stayed for more than a night.

The only thing that would make this place absolutely perfect is a small upgrade to the communal kitchen. Renovating it a bit and adding some new pots, pans, and utensils — as some are quite worn — would make a big difference. I also missed having kitchen towels and paper towels available.

Incredible place. Quiet, surrounded by nature, clean, parking space, balcony, fridge, kitchen, swimming pool, all amenities, great breakfast and super helpful hosts. Without exaggeration, of the 5 places we stayed in Costa Rica, this was the best place we stayed. I recommend it to everyone.

Great location, amazing garden with rich vegetation and plenty of birds. A dip pool, very well maintained, cozy bungalows. An absolutely superb base for exploring the area. A short but steep climb with car to the entrance, can be a bit tricky when wet.

We stayed at the Forest Lodge for two nights. The cabins are beautiful- especially the front porch with its hammock chair and views of the sunset. We went to sleep and woke up to the sounds of birds. Marc and his wife were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was also delicious- fresh fruits, eggs, yougurt, cake! You can walk to the beach in 20 minutes. We highly recommend this beautiful place.

The way up was a little tough on our car. 4x4 would have been helpful even though not necessary.

Great location near the center of Uvita but you feel as if you’re in the middle of the jungle. Spacious rooms and cozy outside sitting area. The host was really nice to pack us a breakfast package because we were leaving before breakfast.

We found the room very hot on one of our nights as it has no air conditioner but the hosts provided us with an extra fan which helped. There is some traffic noise at times but it did not bother us much.

Awesome place to stay ! Felling lost and safe in the same time in the middle of the forest it’s a great experience ! The cabin was really clean, and very well isolated with mosquito nest so you can enjoy the night with the windows open ! The surroundings are very well maintained, the birds love the place also, I spend 3 hours on the deck just to enjoy the fauna show. Great breakfast included !! Highly recommend !!

We found it hard to adjust without sitcoms, but the ceiling fans worked well in keeping us cool at night.

The lodges were private, in the middle of beautiful gardens near to forests, the pool was a bonus. There was a lovely undercovered eating area to use in the daytime.

We wouldn't recommend to arrive after sunset as the road leading directly to lodges is narrow, quite steep and not lit.

We have stayed in a dozen of nice lodges during our 2week travels across Costa Rica but Forest Lodge was by far the best accomodation we've had. The quality of materials and equipment is exeptional. Everything is new and sparkling clean. Beautiful views from the windows and balcony, fantastic breakfast, attentive and very helpful hosts. You are in the middle of the jungle and it is still a walking distance to the National Park, restaurant or supermarket. Wish we could stay longer. :) Thank you Marc! Strongly recommended!

The downside of Forest Lodge is that it's extremely close to the main road, so you can hear the traffic noise all day and night, especially the monstrous American trucks that for some reason like to be unnecessarily noisy.

We didn't use the pool, but it was very clean and cozy, maybe a little bit small, but considering that you have one of the nicest beaches in Costa Rica in Uvita, the swimming pool feels like something that can be easily overlooked. The breakfast was good, although it wasn't the traditional Costa Rican breakfast. The owners of the Forest Lodge are European, so we can understand they want to bring a little of their footprint on that. The rooms were very well designed, to maximize the space and practicality. Everything had a touch of high-end design and custom-built furniture added to the beauty of the place. The terrace and garden were beautiful, spacious and with a hammock facing the forest in the front and a hammock chair hanging inside the terrace. In the evening the terrace was populated with geckos, butterflies, giant grasshoppers, bats, and other amazing little wildlife! We also had a few stingless bees nesting on the terrace, they are super tiny and cute and because they don't have a sting, they are harmless and friendly. We loved our time here and we highly recommend this place for a 3 to 4 nights stay. The Forest Lodge is quite close to the main road of Uvita, so it is very convenient to move around (with your car) and get to the Marino Ballena National Park, Playa Hermosa, and other famous places in the area.

The flipside of the beautiful surroundings was that the lodge was a little further out from town than ideal for us given that we didn't have our own transport. If we had done, it would have been perfect, but as it was we spent more than anticipated on taxis to and fro as we didn't feel comfortable walking down the main highway. I'd recommend coming here with your own transport.

Marc was very helpful in advance of and during our stay - we really appreciated breakfast being prepared and packaged up for us on the days we were on day trips, without us even having to ask! Our room was immaculate, the lodge is in beautiful surroundings and the pool is very welcome at the end of a hot day.
