We stayed for 5 nights in Fortuna retreat and we enjoyed our stay very much. The view from the balcony on the Arenal Vulcano was absolutely stunning. We even had dinner early just to be on time for the sunset on the balcony. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The staff very friendly and helpful. We booked an activity directly through the hotel which made things a lot easier. The breakfast was located in the hotel next door and was very good. It’s definitely worth taking a stroll through the garden/jungle of the hotel where the breakfast is located, which has also a butterfly oasis which hotel guests can access for free and it’s pretty amazing. It was also possible to book the breakfast to go, which we took advantage of a few times to leave early for some trips.

We loved the design of the Retreat, every villa was perfectly isolated with plants. The view of the Arenal vulcano from the room was the cherry on the cake together, of course, with the bathroom.

Not that we didn´t like it but good to know that the breakfast is in another place- a few min. walk. But that place was worth it - nice breakfast but all the animals around you was a big plus!

Just so beautiful!! A small hotel that both the room and especially the surrounding garden and THE VIEW over the volcano was exceptional. The lovely Beverling did every thing to make our stay so good even when we had to change our tours because of illness and came with a special tea for me!

Everything!! The location was incredible, close to everything but still quite and relaxing. We stayed in a room with a private pool and the pool was beautiful as well as the little terrace. My favorite part of the room was the bathroom, incredibly BEAUTIFUL! Highly recommended

Everything was perfect!

The hotel area is very quiet, clean, and full of beautiful plants and flowers, offering a clear view of the volcano. I was truly impressed by the hospitality of the reception staff — they were always ready to help with recommendations and reservations. The breakfast, served at a partner hotel just next door, was also incredibly delicious!

This was such a beautiful property- very modern and clean and breathtaking views if you have a room on the top floor. We also had a garden view room and the wrap-around glass in the bathroom/shower was a divine experience. This is worth the money and the breakfast included (at a separate hotel a 5 min walk away) was top notch. Not only that, you can explore the premises at the restaurant which has birds, a butterfly sanctuary and lots of other wildlife in the area. A phenomenal stay!

The coffee! I expected real coffee and real milk given the amount we're paying for our stay. Other hotels that were offered for the same rate had real coffee and milk offered! It's not a deal breaker but when you're in Costa Rica you expect the best coffee

The property is amazing and upkept beautifully. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we're comfortable, safe, and well looked after. Beverly was the absolute best. She was so helpful, comforting, warm, chatty and welcoming to us. We couldn't believe how hospitable she was. She is definately one of the main reasons we're giving this property such a high rating :)

The Receptionist was extremely helpful and patient, a big plus therefore. We really had an amazing time at the property. The room was high-end with a perfect little pool, it even looks better in live than on pictures.

Loved the property, it was gorgeous. Still close to town and so many beautiful plants, very private, gated parking and entry. The room was very clean and beautiful view of Arenal Volcano with our own private pool which was lovely. The shower feels like you are out in the jungle. Staff was very friendly. Enjoyed breakfast at a nearby hotel. Would highly recommend!! Was sad to leave. Also had great restaurants nearby and was very peaceful

There’s nothing I didn’t like. It’s just important to highlight that it’s better to have a car to get around (we found it more convenient) and it’s a 5min walk to the breakfast that is being offered in a partner hotel.

We loved everything about Fortuna Retreat! Such beautiful views and modern clean rooms. The bathroom was a dream and we felt like having full privacy on our little terrace with the plunge pool. Waking up every morning with the view of the volcano was amazing and everything around our stay was so relaxing.

The dipping pool was always in the shade so a bit cold, I didn’t realize from photos that the suite would be on the first floor. Our room was located right next to the parking lot and rode so noisy during the day when maintenance of the property was occurring.

Beautiful private space that allowed us to relax after excursions. The suite with the private pool had a beautiful view of the volcano the minute we opened up the glass doors.

It would have been great if breakfast was on site or if food was offered here, even if it was just a bar with snacks for example. We also had to drive into the main town as there wasn’t too much around the hotel itself in terms of restaurants, cafés or bars. Pool water was cold! Which we got used to but when the weather was a bit chilly it would’ve been nice if the water was a bit warmer

We loved our suite- it was super spacious and had everything we needed which was great. The outdoor area was lovely and private too. The staff were super friendly and checking in/out was really easy. Breakfast was tasty- there were three options 1. pancakes 2. toast 3. typical costa rican breakfast (delicious!) The hotel grounds were lovely with the plants and it felt very secure.

Nothing everything was great!

Lovely hotel in great settings. Our view from our room was amazing, looking at the volcano. Location was very quiet and it was very easy to get Ubers to town and the main attractions. Breakfast was nice in the jungle nearby. They also gave us a free trail to walk around.

The entrance to the parking was a bit difficult and although the property was very nice I feel it was very expensive. There is no bar or restaurant on site or anywhere to purchase drinks while relaxing at the retreat.

The property was beautiful with a view of the volcano ,surrounding scenery, and beautiful pool! The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. We had a huge covered balcony to enjoy the outdoors even when it was raining. The breakfast offered at the lodge next door (around 5 min walk) was tasty with great service.
