How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A hotel that also carries out activities to preserve nature in a professional and serious manner. The hotel assigned us a staff member, Gary, a courteous professional with an amazing sense of service and tourism. Gary accompanied us for another two or three weeks before arrival, offered us service, and was available for any questions and requests even during our stay.

Verified reviewOur experience at this hotel in Manuel Antonio was great, mostly thanks to the incredible service. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly cared for. The welcome drink, the farewell gifts, and every small detail in between made us feel special. Gary, our personal concierge, was exceptional, kind, efficient, and always available. He helped us plan our days, answered every question (even beyond hotel matters), and made sure everything ran smoothly. On our last day, he organized everything so we could enjoy the beach stress-free: we left our luggage safely, came back to shower, and checked out without a rush. We’re so grateful for his thoughtful support throughout our stay. Clarence, our guide to Manuel Antonio Park, gave us one of the best experiences of our trip. Thanks to his knowledge and dedication, we saw a wide variety of animals and captured great photos of sloths, monkeys, birds, etc. He truly went the extra mile to make the visit meaningful. The hotel offers a shuttle service to the beach and the national park, with towels and water bottles on demand. We could leave the car safely at the hôtel and not worry about parking. The internal cart rides were also super cool, the drivers would stop to show us sloths and macaws along the way! The view form the restaurant is spectacular. Breakfast was nice and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing.. Overall, we truly recommend this place and would absolutely return!
If we had to mention two small downsides: the lack of a jacuzzi in the pool area, and the fact that for the price, a second real bed would have been better than a sofa bed, though we were aware of that when booking. However, the bes was super comfortable and big.

Verified reviewI had a lovely stay at Gaia Collection! The highlight of the experience was definitely the staff – everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was another standout – every meal we had was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. While the hotel installations are showing some signs of age and could use a bit of updating, everything was clean and functional. Considering the service, food, and location, the price felt very fair. Overall, a great value for a relaxing stay in Manuel Antonio. Would definitely recommend!

Verified reviewThe staff will go above and beyond to make you feel special. The guys driving the buggies are incredibly nice and they will show you sloths! You will have a dedicated member of staff answering all your queries. We had Pamela who was very prompt and sweet. There is a Macao’s rescue centre inside the property land and it is possible to visit it for free with a guide. The guide, Clarence, is SO good that we decided to go to Manuel Antonio park only because he was leading the visit. It really worth it! We booked one night and we extended one more night And finally, you can see sloths 🦥!
The building isn’t particularly nice, but what matters is the lush glorious forest all around. The bathroom’s room is a sliding panel, so there is no intimacy.

Verified reviewThe sunsets are the most stunning we have ever seen and the staff was very friendly and very responsive. The only negative was that I had to reach out to get the concierge set up. The fact that the suite had access to a private rooftop was fabulous. The free breakfasts were lovely.
The pools were a bit crammed and awkward in the layout. The spa had very limited availability. There is a bit of a dated feel to aspects of the resort, but nothing obnoxious.

They helped us out with a flat tire when Budget car rental company couldn’t provide customer service. and Jairo thank you for your help with the car. Juan thank you for your help with booking our stay in Sierpe for our Corcovado trip. Loved the views and Clarence is the best tour guide. I was fortunate enough to go on the property tour but couldn’t make the Manuel Antonio tour due to our car issues. If I come back I would definitely do the tour with him. The macaw conservation is really great.

Verified reviewFirst thing that stays out is the friendly staff. Good management! Love for details. KYC is amazing. It’s a small hotel. Adults only, so we had a very quiet time by the pool and it’s surrounded by so much nature.
We liked pretty much everything. The only thing maybe was that we had read before about the restaurant and expected a little more. It was good but not outstanding. But also reasonable priced.

Verified reviewI recently had the opportunity to stay at Gaia Hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome and comfortable. The hotel premises are on a hill consumed by nature where animals such as monkeys and sloths are easily visible. From the La Luna restaurant, you can enjoy a stunning ocean view. The rooms are fresh, clean and tastefully decorated, creating a relaxing atmosphere. In addition, the bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of activities. One of the aspects I liked the most was the attention of the staff and the cleanliness in the room. Everyone was very friendly and attentive, they really made us feel at home. The included breakfast was another plus point; there was a variety of delicious options that satisfied all tastes. In short, my stay at Gaia Hotel was exceptional. I highly recommend it to those looking for a comfortable and affordable place. I will definitely be back on my next visit.
