Pool needed to be cleaned more often, beach is not great, and restaurant food while decent isn't very varied.

This property was better than expected. We thought it was more of a bungalow vibe but it was much more upscale. The staff, restaurant, accessibility to the calm beach, the lovely pool all added to a delightful beginning to our Costa Rican adventure.

The front desk isn’t staffed at night, there’s just a roaming security guard. Happy hour times are wrong on the “app” they encourage you to use. Drink prices are pretty steep outside of happy hour. Service is terribly slow. Breakfast is atrocious.

The pool is amazing (though the hot tub in the middle isn’t hot). The beds are comfy.

The beach is definitely not the best part of this resort. You probably want to walk over to one of the other beaches. The chairs around the pool (and near the beach) were very uncomfortable. If you don't have a car, this hotel is very isolated.

This is a gem of a property. The people were unbelievably nice and very helpful. Pool area is delightful except the chairs are so uncomfortable. The grounds around the hotel were amazingly beautiful and the howler monkeys and other wildlife were great.

The view is beautiful and the grounds were lovely. It seems they are understaffed and the staff they do have in the kitchen were not trained yet. The pool and beach were exceptional and one could hear howler monkeys at 6 am and watch green parrots fly from tree to tree. The surrounding environment is serene and verdant, full of biodiversity. If they could train the staff and waiters in the restaurant, it would be wonderful.

- rooms are not cleaned, beds not made, etc. unless you request it.  We were not told this upon check-in, so this was quite a surprise, especially since the property has a 4-star rating (even though the toilets cannot handle toilet paper). - numerous mosquitos in the room, especially the first night - no gift or snack shop - no town close enough to walk to, to buy anything to keep in the small fridge in the room; need to have car if this is important to you - limited public transportation: a bus comes to the gate at 2 p.m. (heading to Coco beach) and returns at 5 p.m. daily; this information was not shared with us on check-in but only discovered by asking questions. Going anywhere otherwise requires a taxi and this will be at least $20USD one way, regardless that you may only be going a few kilometers. - only 1 restaurant with fairly limited menu. This may suit you if you are staying only a few days, but any longer and you will likely want more options. - very few people.  This can be a positive (e.g., no problem finding a lovely spot around the pool) but can feel a bit eerie if you are the only ones having dinner in the restaurant. - beach right in front of hotel is not swimmable. Sea urchins are a hazard here. You will need to walk down the beach about 10 minutes to get to a place where you can swim safely and where the water is clear to the bottom.

The dining and pool area was terrific. Beautiful grounds. Food service is excellent. Good wi-fi. Spacious room and bathroom, excellent bed, linens and towels. Many birds, monkeys and other wildlife to observe. Swimming in the sea further down the beach was wonderful!!!

Rocky beach and shallow water level...scenic views, but not good for lying on the beach and swimming in the ocean.

The room was absolutely outstanding (very spacious and clean). Very friendly and accommodating staff across the board. Free breakfast a la carte included (choice between sweet, vegetarian and local options). Very nice pool area.

Lovely quiet place with access to the beach for romantic walks. The staff were really lovely and gave us a free glass of wine as it was our honeymoon. The pool was nice and quiet with few people around (and no children thank god apart from the odd teenager) and we really relaxed and enjoyed it. Also had access to a beach which we used to take romantic walks. There were even howler monkeys and iguanas hanging out in the mango tree right next to the pool which was really cool! We wished we could have stayed one more day!
