Nice location, close to the small town but very noisy. Decoration is nice. Air-conditioning is very quiet. Owner very sensitive to energy saving but very very low insulation so loosing lot of energy.

Owner stick to many many rules, rules everywhere but Owner doesn't follow any welcome rules like in other places, water, fruits,.... Very limited and low quality equipment, no microwave, no oven, no toaster, very limited glasses, forks, knives, ...low quality towels, uncomfortable sofa, no small table near sofa,.... Glasses and other things no so clean. It is the worst place we have been in Costa Rica, you can find many other better places.

    Property response:

Hello Pascal, we would like to point some aspects you refer: Yes, here in CR you don’t see quite often insulated walls, we insulate roof for sure, but since we don’t have extreme temperature changes as in other countrys, we don’t need that extra thermal insulation. Of course, having that would improve the efficiency of the thermal system, that is a trade off between aesthetics of a wood cabin and having a more insulated space. You may also noticed the garden. We have planted several trees and plants, they are growing, and they help and will even help more when they get bigger to regulate temperature in the cabins. We don’t “stick rules” Pascal, we receive plenty of people from all over the world, it is very interesting, not everyone are used to the way things work here, you would be amazed, from how the locks works, sinks, how to open a water valve.... you name it. We place signs in places where they are helpful, actually every sign we have placed has a story behind it, people have asked before how to turn the stove on, how to turn the fans on, how to separate the recycling, and so... So those are not rules, those signs are there to help our guests, and we are happy that usually (like 99% of the time) they find them helpful and they let us know that, they are based in feedback. We don’t know about the “welcome rules” you mention. Do you want a bottle of water in one of the only 3 countries in America with tap drinkable water? Not from us! sorry! one of our main goals is to be as sustainable as possible, we would never promote the use of single use plastic, actually, we offer reusable beer and coke glass bottles, so we encourage our guest to reduce waste. We are very aware of our guests, we send check-in instructions, we ask them if they need anything else, we ask for constructive feedback, we left coffee, sugar, salt, oil, all the basics to cook, etc... Thankfully, our guests feel very welcome, and they let us know that! We will definitely check our silverware, and if necessary, we will take actions with that, thank you for letting us know. That is something you could’ve told us by private message as improvement feedback : ) but we will take into account. No Pascal, in this specific cabin, we don’t offer microwave, oven or toaster. In this case we recommend you to read the listing description, you will see all the amenities a place offer to their guests, it is very detailed, great option from booking. Finally, we just would like to say, it is very sad when someone left a review like this. We didn’t receive a message from you letting us know any of this or asking for help, we are always ready to help our guests. We don’t understand how you could stay in our place in such bad conditions as you describe, we wouldn’t even stay a night in a place we would consider a 4 out of 10, we would run away from that place inmediatly. .

We enjoyed this nice modern house. Great design, nice view made the whole stay very comfortable. We walked to the town to view the display of Xmas lights, very nice small town. We also went to the great artisan restaurant nearby, excellent food.

There were some neighbor morning power washing noise.
