Because the mixed dorms are so small, it would have been nice to have curtains for privacy in the bunks. It felt pretty cramped in there, but that was to be expected. I also felt the facilities could have been cleaner, but I was only there one night to rest before more travel.

I enjoyed the cute communal spaces to get some work done or take phone calls. The other guests I met were kind, and the staff was super helpful with finding the bus and routes to my next destination.

The staff could be a little bit more friendly and there was so much vegetation on the window of our private room that we were lacking some fresh air. The fan helped though.

Would recommend to make a one night stop. It's next to the bus station and the outdoor area with hammocks and the kitchen is cosy.

Toilets were not great. 2 times the flush fell off and the shower mat was not changed the whole time we were there so was constantly soaking wet.

Everything is clean and well maintained. Friendly staff, nice chill hang out place at the kitchen and a very short distance from the centre (not too close either). We did a pit stop for our border run, great place.

My room was right by the street so if you're a light sleeper you might have a hard time sleeping with the motorcycles noise.

The bed were confortable. Nice backyard. I liked the outside kitchen.

Kitchen wasn’t that organized .

Second time staying. End of trip… room was quiet. Fan was excellent. Great location. Able to use the common area . Hammocks and courtyard are quaint and relaxing.

The noise coming from the outside was horrible! We barely could sleep during early morning (from 4-5:00 am) because of the trucks which passed in the street in front of the hostel. The whole building was literally shaken each time a truck would pass and we were directly awaked accordingly ….

My partner and I took the private room option with shared bathroom which was nice but a bit pricey compared to similar rooms in Costa Rica. Overall the room and bathroom we clean but the kitchen needed some cleaning.

Room was quite hot, even with ventilation. No towels provided (would need to rent). Shower etc was okay, could have been in a bit nicer state and cleaner.

Location is excellent, very close to Bus Terminal. There are a few hammocks that are very nice, social area and kitchen is okay (some tools, fridge).

Costa Rican experience at exceptional cheap price. Ive a lot of yrs visiting CR and i was charmed be good price,shared kitchen, hammocks ,green space, quick access to connecting bus station. Easy transport from airport, security.

Mixed Experience – Difficult Check-in but Nice Common Areas I had some trouble checking in at this hostel. I arrived in Liberia just before 11 PM and had already informed the hostel via Booking.com messages that I wouldn’t have internet and would be arriving late. However, when I got there, I was only able to get inside by sheer luck. The doorbell was apparently already turned off, and despite knocking and calling out for a long time, nobody heard me—until finally, a guest from the dorm let me in. When I mentioned this to the host, he simply said that it was already quiet hours. However, this was not stated anywhere on Booking.com, where it clearly says that check-in is possible until midnight. Given that I had also sent a message in advance, it was frustrating that my arrival seemed unexpected or unaccounted for. Aside from this issue, the dorms are simple but okay. The courtyard with the garden is nice, and the kitchen is well-equipped. They also offer free coffee and oats, which is a nice touch.
