How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWe had a double bed bedroom and it was fantastic. It was spacious and clean. The bathroom was big as well and they had enough space to keep belongings like shelves and a couch and hooks. They had parking available on site and the location was amazing - the park is located literally 2 mins walk away and it's close to restaurants as well. I saw howler monkeys and birds very early in the morning so it's a great spot to see animals too.The beds were extremely comfortable.
The breakfast was below average. We expected better because of the pictures shown online but it was extremely basic and had no taste at all. One thing - one day the cleaner cleaned the sand in our room and just keep it aside instead of throwing it away, not sure why.

Verified reviewGood location and very helpful and friendly staff. Set in it's own little paradise, surrounded by beautiful palms, stunning birds, the odd howler monkeys and a small, clean swimming pool, very tranquil. Nice buffet breakfast including delicious fruits each day. Donna was so helpful in booking trips and tours around the area. The Manuel Antonio park tour, the jungle night tour and the chocolate tour are really worth a visit, plus lunch or dinner is included, which is a nice bonus. I find the hotel is very clean with constant hot running water. Rooms are very adequate, new bathrooms, comfortable beds, good WiFi connection, great aircon plus a ceiling fan. It's in a perfect location next door to the national park and easy access to the beach, which is stunning. Great for early morning walks. Lots of choices to eat out. I was happy to stay here.
Because I was in a ground floor room, it could be noisy when other guests were upstairs, sounds of footsteps could be loud at times.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation. The room was located right next to a restaurant, and the noise was constant and very disruptive, especially in the evening. On top of that, the mattress was extremely uncomfortable, making it really hard to get a good night’s sleep.

Verified review24/7 under security, gated property. Though parking is not guaranteed we were able to find one spot when checking in and parked the car there. Walked around wherever we wanted to go in Manuel Antonio area. Awesome restaurants and food scene and bars. Close to the Manuel Antonio National Park pretty much right in front of the park. Close to the public beach. Clean, beds, pillows, showers, pool, breakfast was awesome, staff. William is awesome. So are the other staff there helping during the breakfast, staff maintaining the hotel clean, and more. Was the best stay during my 7 day road trip in Costa Rica, that included stays in San Jose, La Fortuna, Monteverde, and of course Manuel Antonio.
One thing just one was the toilet was very close to the shower wall and hence a little uncomfortable with right leg. Other rooms may not have this issue.

Verified reviewThey said we got upgraded on arrival , we get to the room and the toilet has no lid , then it didn't flush and we had to wait a full day until they fixed it and the water spilled put of the toilet all over the room and we didn't even get an apology from the hotel staff . Also the shower had boiling water and we had no way to turn it cold. Not ok at all . The breakfast was more of a first come first served as we got to eat basically the left overs of the ones that were in first

Shower not working well, cleaning staff checked us out at 9am when timing is scheduled to be at 11am, breakfast options were fair but limited, the establishment policies towards cancellations.

Verified reviewThe hotel is 20 steps from the park entrance and a few minutes from the beach. The shared areas (pool, reception) are nice and the staff is very helpful. Best part: after checking out we could leave our car parked inside and after visiting the park we could take a shower! Thanks again!
