This was clearly among my favorite hotels in Costa Rica to date. The room was very large and luxurious, comfortable, with many ameniities. Beautiful pool, convenient parking, and fantastic, generouse breakfast included. I got a room upgrade as well… not a single negative.

Hotel Pumilio is a fabulous hotel. The staff, room, pool and breakfast are all exceptional. It was among my favorite hotels during my stay in Costa Rica. I was impressed and happy with all facilities and services.

Everything was perfect!

This place is a hidden gem, absolutely beautiful! The room was big, fully equipped! The pool was really nice and clean! Breakfast delicious! The staff genuinely friendly! You probably need a car, but is only 5min drive to Jaco.

The hotel is close to Jacó, but in a quiet and green area. Our room was big and comfortable, the outdoor kitchen facing the swimming pool was well equipped.

There wasn't really a mountain or pool view. The breakfast was also only just OK, ranking in the bottom half of the ones we had in our 10 day trip.

The pool being immediately outside the back of the room was extremely convenient. The full kitchen with utensils and fridge were also quite appreciated. The beds were quite comfortable. The gate was also very easy to use and made it feel more secure. The glass of wine upon check in was a nice touch, and so were the complementary local snacks in the room.

We arrived very late and the front desk personnel, April, was amazing in checking us in fast and helping us book our crocodile tour for the next day, and allowed us a late check out to accommodate our needs. Furthermore, we were very happy with our room which was facing the pool and had a beautiful view!

The only thing we didn’t like was that there were very young kids on the first floor, and their parents let them out on the patio and pool deck area at 6 am. The boy talked very loud, screamed and just never stopped. His parents allowed him to wander all over on his own (approx. 3 yrs old.) completely unattended in some cases. I’m sure everyone facing the pool was awake at 6 am. On the other hand there were other slightly older and much better behaved kids staying there and they were lovely. So if you have kids that like to roam freely and loudly, pick a more open kid friendly location.

We loved the King Room on the second floor overlooking the pool. It opened to the west which made it feel more open on the patio. The room and patio configuration was great.

We had been told we could check in at 9am and they were not expecting us. We were able to wait by pool and room was ready by 11.

Lovely spacious clean room overlooking pool. Staff were helpful and the breakfast was relaxed and very good. We particularly liked the fresh egg station! Outside kitchen was a bonus and great to have our own fridge.
