The hotel backs right onto the forest which is great for wildlife spotting from the pool. The food was nice at the hotel and staff were really friendly. Having a drying rack in the room was a real bonus for drying wet beach clothes.

Only 2 coffee pods supplied on your first day, even if staying longer this is not restocked, also the WiFi was patchy.

The pool and restaurant area is lovely and relaxing. My mom and I made friends with Carlos, the bartender, who was great to talk to about music and helped us look for wildlife. From the pool deck, we saw two types of monkeys, deer, hawks, rails, hummingbirds, frogs, and geckos. The food is reasonably priced and tasty, and the rooms are clean, with lots of comfortable places to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, even when it's raining. Leo, the concierge, helped us with transportation and recommendations about the area. This is my second time staying at Jungle Beach Hotel, and I will be back again!

The property was really well situated. It was an 11 minute walk or 3 minute drive to the the National Park. You could access the beach by literally crossing the road and walking for 2-3 minutes. The onsite restaurant whilst slightly pricier than the local sodas, proved its worth with its high quality meals-especially the meat dishes.

The only issue was that the WiFi was intermittent. Usually not an issue, but even the international Sims we had purchased picked up no signal whilst On site.

The Jungle Beach Hotel is in a fabulous position around 5mins walk to the beach and 15mins to the National Park. The hotel is great with good sized rooms with air con and comfortable beds. We saw several monkeys from our balcony. The pool is a great addition and the kids loved this. The staff were so helpful and kind. Overall a great mid-range place to stay in San Antonio.

Slightly noisy by the road but such a great position as a result.

The property had a good location and was quite central to most things in Manuel Antonio, the natural wildlife was quite good as monkeys would come down to the swimming pool. It’s generally quite a quirky place. Good access to the beach. I would say, would be don’t expect five star services. It is very local to the national park about a six or seven minute drive.

The one thing that sticks out to me unfortunately was the natural wildlife of the howler monkeys, no need to set an alarm for anything as usual will be awake most of the night. (for the local ones this is obviously normal.) but as a tourist is like a car alarm going off all night. So if you like to walk around with toothpicks holding your eyelids open, this is the place to stay.

The room was spacious and very clean. We loved being in the jungle with wildlife all around us! We both heard and saw monkeys on multiple occasions. We also liked the small hotel atmosphere and enjoyed visiting with other guests and the staff in the restaurant/bar area . We loved being able to walk to the beach as well as the national park and many restaurants were a short, easy drive away for dinner. We did eat dinner at the restaurant the first night and really liked our food.

There was a lot of road noise in the suite where we stayed, which we recognize could not be helped. The AC in the master bedroom of the suite was not as powerful as we would have liked, but the front room was nice and cool. The pool appeared larger in pictures and the actual size was disappointing for our teenage boys. I also thought that I had made a reservation that included breakfast but was told upon arrival that it wasn't possible through Booking.com. I must have misunderstood.

Wonderful hotel, great location, 5 minute walk to beach, bars and restaurants but surrounded by forest. We saw monkeys, iguanas and deer every day from the bar - pool area. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, fresh and fair priced and kids loved it. Happy hour 3-6 and margaritas were delicious. Rooms had air conditioning and were cleaned daily. Parking at front of hotel. Great place to stay in Manuel Antonio

The hotel is strategically located 10 minutes off Manuel Antonio park entry and 5 minutes from the (beautiful) beach. Everything is well maintained and clean. The restaurant area is cool with swimming pool and many squirrel monkeys paying a visit

Staff is kind but, compared to many other places in Costarica, here you get the feeling that "you are just another customer". This may likely apply to the entire M. Antonio area that is quite touristy and less welcoming. Food at the restaurant is ok but overpriced. Seeing monkeys is great but the staff feeds them banana for a picture and for the guests, which I did not find respectful to the animals

Nothing! It was just a horrible experience.

We arrived too early from a transfer and the guy at the reception check us in the system but the room was not available. We stored our bags and came back in the late afternoon. As we were shown to the our room, it didn't correspond to the description (view onto garden and pool) and location as per booking. Also, the pool was miniscule and taken with a wide angle lense to make it appear bigger on the hotel images. We requested to change the room for something more adequate and corresponding to our booking and price. We were shown a second room with an equally horrible view onto a court yard wall. The room smelled moldy and there were mold stains in the bathroom. The bed was very uncomfortable. We went back to reception and told the person that we cannot stay at this facility. I am highly allergic and get asthma and cannot be exposed to mould. I explained this to the receptionist but to no avail. We were told that since we had checked in already, there was nothing they could do. We said that we will leave and did, then requested a refund due to the inadequate advertisement of the room. We were charged the full price and didn't get a refund even though we did not stay at the facility. We contacted booking, the hotel and even providec photos of the inadequate room and the situation. It was a horrible moment on our vacation that I would not want to be repeated and hope nobody else will experience upon reading this review. Back home, I called the hotel and spoke to to several people, but there was no understanding. I was charged the full amount and that late in the evening we had to find another hotel, which was not easy due to high season. A very unpleasant experience!

The location of this hotel is awesome! Walking distance to the beach and the national park (no need to worry about the parking hustles as you approach the park!), but tucked into the jungle. We didn't spend a lot of time on the beach adjacent to the hotel, but we walked down there to enjoy the sunset, and walked back from the national park along the beach, which was lovely. I also just really loved the vibe of the hotel. I quickly realized that the restaurant/bar/swimming deck was my happy place to rest and relax after a morning activity, and just enjoy the jungle setting. And while the pool isn't large, it is clean and very refreshing. We also saw a ton of animals from the hotel itself. On our third morning my son woke me up saying "mom, I see a howler monkey out our window!" Sure enough, there was a howler monkey crossing the road just out the window, followed by a bunch of squirrel monkeys. Our room had a window that overlooked the road, and a ton of monkeys cross the road using power lines and ropes, and we had a great view of all of it. We also saw several howler monkeys in the trees above the pool deck, and saw white faced monkeys come in droves to try to poach some food. We saw toucans, and a deer, and many lizards (and one scorpion) all right from the hotel. The staff were all very friendly, and contributed to the laid back friendly vibe of the hotel. Food was good- service is a bit slow, but if you are vibing and feeling relaxed, not an issue. The rooms were simple but comfortable, and matched the sort of jungle boho vibe of the place. The AC worked well (thank God, b/c it was very humid outdoors, and AC allowed us to get good sleep and our stuff to dry out overnight). The water was not "hot" as some have said, but was plenty warm and I wouldn't have wanted hotter.

Wifi: the wifi connection was very poor in our room. We got ok but not great wifi on the pool deck. Since we were on vacation, and also got wifi at many of our other stops it wasn't a huge negative for me, but its something they could improve on. Charging for coffee in the room after using 2 pods: This was the only thing that left a little sour taste in my mouth. I get limiting coffee pods and telling guests you a have to ask for more, but it just rubbed me the wrong way to charge for any coffee above 2, especially since we were staying 4 nights.
