How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The wine menu felt like it could have done with a few tweaks. Given the price point a number of the wines available by the glass should have been excellent and they sometimes fell flat.

Verified reviewLocation, style, comfort, elegance, service, staff, peace, quiet, nature....but the greatest surprise was the chef and cuisine: THE MOST SPECTACULAR, FRESH, PERFECTLY PREPARED DINNERS one can dream of. (and we are picky foodies from ITALY!). We loved the 4x4 drive up to Kura, a lot of fun!

Verified reviewThere are really no words to describe this hotel. The poolside and rooms are perfection. The view is one of the best views one can have in this world and the rooms are just insane.
The road leading to the hotel is a challenge. They offer a pick-up service from below. The hours of the restaurant in the evening seemed a bit short (kitchen closed at 8:30pm).

Verified reviewAll the facilities and the view are amazing. The IPad for communicating and their quick answers was perfect. That you have a shuttle to the beach was also really nice. Right next to the pool and the room, you can spot a lot of animals.
We had no water for 4 hours, it wasn’t their fault though. But still was quite uncomfortable without toilet. Right now there are constructions near the pool villas, so booking the villas you have to consider the noice

Verified reviewThe team is kind and helpful, always trying to make an unforgettable experience. It was our honeymoon and all details were perfect! The room is wow and huge, at night the team prepared it to be cosy. The view is incredible and the pool is amazing. We did a massage and it was extremely good! The drivers were really nice and pick us up and drop us at the beach for the a morning. Desserts were delicious!

the access road is for the bold drivers and only for 4x4, steep and rough BUT there is hotel pickup/dropoff service by the hotel if you want to avoid this ride

Verified reviewThe Kura Boutique Hotel was no less than incredible in every way. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and loved well before we arrived. Each time that we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the staff by name and with refreshments. All meals were superb. The view is unparalleled. I will repeat the that staff truly cared about every moment of our experience and did everything they could to improve our time in Uvita.

Verified revieweverything! this hotel is stunning. the second you get out of the car you see the most amazing view towards the Pacific and the famous whale tail sand bar. it was difficult to take our eyes away from that view. the hotel is very quiet because there are only a few rooms, this means that hotel guests say hello all the time which was great - everyone was so friendly. the staff knew everyone by name. the pool is incredible and the whole place is backed by rainforest. we saw toucans 2 of the 3 nights we stayed. the spa is very special. the massages are incredible! we were very sad to leave this tropical paradise.
