Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe dude that checked us in at 6pm was coarse and chain smoked cigarettes. We were a group of 3 persons and he would not give us another set of keys to our room. To gain vehicular access to the hotel you must enter through the secret passage and you still cannot drive to the entrance. When questioned about access the Dude sent us searching for the secret passage. We walked 5 blocks and after making a full circle we found our parked car a block away from the hotel. Be aware the bathroom is behind a petition wall with no fan and no sound reduction of the walls: everyone will know your bathroom habits, and there isn't a fan. It is also more like a clean cave than a room.
The Manager Gré was exceptionally polite and welcoming. The resort was connected to the ocean. The view from the restaurant was the ocean. Breakfast and the coffee were great. It was super easy to get to the great venues is Sámara.

CanadaWe asked to borrow the beach towels and they said NO. No trust even though we trusted them. Also the toilet was broken, then the manager fixed it so it flushed but it was noisy.

United StatesThe bathroom set up was subpar. There was no warm water for a shower (but you didn't really need a hot shower with the hot weather). The bathroom was very, very small, so small that you couldn't sit on the toilet facing forward but you had to sit facing to the side. There were no safes in the room and the door locks were minimal however there was a security guard on duty which gave some reassurance.
The boho vibe was on point. The air-conditioning worked great. The staff was very friendly. The beach restaurant was delicious and the scenery was gorgeous sitting out on the beach.

United KingdomThe room we had lacked much ventilation or AC, and was quite compact. This meant it could get warm at night and a little humid, but we managed OK.
LDV really hit the mark for us. The main attraction is that it sits right on the main beach in Samara, and you simply cannot beat that - amazing sunsets, and enjoying a lovely breakfast watching the waves. LDV provides great seating area for relaxing - sunbeds, cushions, tables and chairs etc. We always managed to find a space, and none of the annoying 'towel reservations'! The hotel has a great vibe, which is in no small part due to the great owners and staff, who are so welcoming. There is safe street parking nearby for a number of vehicles, although access is not signposted (it is at the end of Carre Intercultura). There are numerous eating options within easy walking distance, so lots of choice. We recommend the Curry Shack, a short distance away - a great little option, served from a small caravan! Overall, we would certainly stay again at LDV with no hesitation.

United StatesRooms are small, ours did not have A/C which was tough, however the owner(s) provided two fans which helped... given how hot it becomes during the day, A/C is highly recommended.
Great location, literally on the beach, great hospitality . Upon arrival, you are greeted with a fresh clean washcloth and a delicious fruit cocktail with alcohol. The owners are very friendly and attentive, usually on site most of the time. The restaurant is also very good, highly recommend... in fact, guests from other hotels come over for lunch and dinner. Happy hour drinks available along with live shows on a weekly basis. Stayed total of 3 nights, we loved it!

United StatesLa Dolce Vida should send out directions to street parking (no private parking area) on Calle Intercultura ahead of time, since the directions given online and via Google Maps don’t get you to right place. I had emailed, used WhatsApp and called ahead of time trying to verify where we were going but never received any response. I don’t buy “the phone is out for hotel” since these days there are too many other options. The room we had (“Loto”) was tiny (like 8 ft x 12’) and seemed to be one of the only ones that had no window even onto the fully enclosed courtyard. Not much reason to stay inside anyway, but a challenge for 2 people and something good to know. Even just adding a bunch more hooks would be really helpful. The very charismatic, Italian owner seems to instruct staff on being a little loose with charging-as is noted in other reviews we had read. We were double charged the 10% service fee on the only time we used a card, fortunately only for one drink. Also, the card reader was supposedly down but only for hotel part. Fortunately I had PayPal , but that should be made clear ahead of time. Confirm pricing , how to pay and exchange rates and pay attention to avoid surprises and all will be fine. Oh, and not sure why, and no fault of hotel, but there were way more smokers here than anywhere else we stayed in CR. Kept having to move around to avoid smoke while trying to enjoy La Pura Vida.
Location, beach amenities, staff. Having cushions, towels, chairs, tables in shade or sun on the beach makes this place special. Nice touches like cold water with cucumber and lime brought to you several times a day by super friendly staff is lovely.
