The pool was a little murky but overall it was a great place!!

We absolutely loved the outdoor dining and living space. It felt private with a sense of community. Fully equipped and large kitchen. Very clean! Lovely gardens, nice and quiet. Free filtered water was nice.

Such a beautiful place in the jungle, lovely pool, nice breakfast. Close to Cahuita National Park but at the same time totally secluded. Also good for kids - they have a high chair, toys and books.

The place is a hidden gem. Nestled in the middle of the rain forest amongst lush gardens and local fauna. The songs of the birds were incredible and you could hear the houler monkeys every morning. We hope to come back soon.

Wi-Fi signal could be better. Maybe installing routers with antennas to have better coverage (?) And I would add extra blankets on each the rooms. It was cold at night.

This is a truly peaceful and beautiful place to stay. The pool was the perfect size for a small group, and the availability of dry towels was a thoughtful touch. One of the highlights was the Honesty Bar, something rarely seen in Costa Rica, making it a unique and enjoyable feature. The accommodations met our expectations perfectly well-equipped, spacious, and comfortable. Most importantly, our host, Nicolas, was exceptional. Despite a water issue in the area (beyond their control), he went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience, making every effort to accommodate us. We had a fantastic stay and are already planning to return with a larger group!

This place - one word: AMAZING! Right in the jungle, many monkeys around, is just spectacular! The garden is simply amazing and the owners very friendly and responsive! The swimming pool was perfect after a long day exploring the area. You probably need a car, so 5min drive to restaurants and supermarket and 10min to Cahuita National Park. I’ll get back 100%, my kids were in love!

Bed wasn’t particularly comfortable and the bathroom was a bit dark and dingy - and smelt a bit damn.

Perfect location with lots of privacy. Every gadget possible was available in our lodge - including a coffee machine and smoothie maker. Pool area was lovely and well maintained. Great for a dip to cool off at the end of the day. Beautifully kept around the lodges.

We stayed for one week at La Rana de Cahuita and had a great time! The location and entire lodge area is beautiful and very well maintained. Werner is very responsive – both in advance, but also during the stay - and takes very good care of his guests! We loved having monkeys as regular visitors and many other wildlife in and around the property, which made it true eco lodge stay!

It was our first time on the Atlantic side, which can be cooler in the evening, but humid and hot in the day. My only issue was the long bumpy road to get to Le Rana. It's not the hosts fault, just be warned. Also, the yard lights are left on all night, for guests' safety, however, I found it annoying. Light pollution is a huge problem for frogs, birds, turtles, and insects, and apparently me. We visitors should not expect the Ticos to light up everything for us. We are there to see the animals, not harm them.

The casita we stayed in was adorable and had a well-stocked outdoor kitchen, and the host provided little things like salt, oil, and coffee filter. The birds are wonderful to watch while sitting on the porch. It is picturesque and out of the way. The host was always around and let you know when he would be away. He also gave us some great suggestions on where to go and traffic conditions.

Werne was a very engaging host and very helpful. The authentic cabin accommodation is set in beautiful gardens and overall environment, with a viewing platform perfect for sunrise and sunset birdwatching/nature watching. Lovely pool and associated setting. Our self-catering cabin was comfortable and had a lovely covered sitting area, with outside kitchen.

The cabin we booked was surrounded by a beautiful garden, the pool area was very nice and clean. Free filtered water and a honesty bar if you are in need for drinks or snacks. The owners were very friendly and gave some great tips for activities.

Everything! Lovely pool area, the accommodation was spotless, the garden beautiful, the hosts amazing. We had such a lovely time. Just outside Cahuita, beach 10 mins away, supermarket close. Snorkelling at Manzanilla beach was was great, and the night walk in manzanilla wildlife park was amazing.

the garden is wonderful. there are trees, plants and birds. the bungalow is very cute, functional and well equipped. the beds are very good quality. we loved our terrace with the armchairs and the hammock. the swimming pool is very pleasant and everything is very clean. this is the best place to stay in cahuita. you will hear the animals of the forest and you will be able to rest.

Werner was a really friendly and helpful host. We had a great time! Breakfast was delicious, the rooms were clean and spacious. La rana has everything you need and more. Werner went out of his way for us to feel comfortable and he even got my mother some almond croissants for her birthday. We liked it so much, we decided to stay a night longer.
