Laura is a wonderful host and her hotel is clean and she thinks of the little things that makes a place very welcoming and comfortable . Your specialty made breakfast can be served at 5:30 am ,if you have an early flight!

Laura, the Owner, lives there as well. When you arrive it’s like you’re visiting a friend. She is welcoming and caring. She gave me a bigger room that I hadn’t paid for because it was empty and I looked tired! So I really appreciated that. Everything is very clean with everything you need. Breakfast is included. She is a gourmet chef by the way. And she baked fresh olive ciabatta bread with a sun-dried tomatoes spread an omelette, fresh pineapple, yogurt, nuts, coffee. I couldn’t believe it I had to eat it all!

Easy access by bus to and from the airport. Was welcomed with a nice patient chat. Room was stations and clean. Own bathroom. Close to the mall with lots of food options and the city center to walk and look at the church and park squares.

Nothing. I was nervous after looking up the location and reading some negative reviews however none of these experiences were true for me and I was welcomed in and had a very pleasant stay.

The owner was very friendly and responsive to messages. The breakfast in the morning was really generous and delicious. The beds were comfortable and the Fan machine was really effective.

The top bunk felt a bit unsafe as there were no side bars.

I had an amazing stay as a solo traveler! The accommodation was exactly as described—clean, modern, and incredibly cozy. The location was perfect, with everything I needed within walking distance. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always quick to answer my questions. The breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of options to suit any taste. I felt so comfortable and well taken care of. Will definitely be back! Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

A return to Lajuela Hostal felt like coming home at the end of my journey. Alajuela skips the hustle bustle and traffic of San Jose and it’s a very convenient arrival and departure place near the airport. I once again appreciated the spacious room and comfortable bed.

Silent and clean stay with a good price ratio, the breakfast is very good

The location was perfect- very close to the airport and very close to many restaurants by foot:) The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast is included in the price and was delicious. The owner was super nice and gave us recommendations. Amazing value for the price. Would definitely recommend!

Laura is a warm host who graciously welcomed me despite my late arrival from the airport. The room was large and very clean. Spotless! Laura makes wonderful breakfasts. I especially liked her gorditos, also fruit and eggs. It was a great start for my time in Costa Rica. Excellent English is spoken for those who need it.

Everything is clean, comfortable and in a great location. Laura is such a wonderful host, I felt like I was at home with a friend. This was my second time staying and next time I’m in Costa Rica I’ll stay again! Such a pleasure 🩷

Comfortable, big bed, nice owner, good breakfast, good communication, I had my own bathroom, its close to the airport and easy to get there with an uber

Nothing, maybe that the water in the shower wasn't hot, but wasn't a problem for me, since I don't have hot water myself 😁

Landowner lady was great. Provided us breakfast to go in our early morning departure. Great, quite strong coffee. Parking space for the rental car was good. Secured spot

There is no sign of the hostel outside showing the place, was slightly difficult to find. Wi-Fi was not consistent and slow.

Super close to the airport! 5 min Uber ride. The host ,Laura is great and has a very clean place. Wonderful free breakfast …. Tell her when you want to eat and she makes it. Quiet street. I will return , for sure. Only accepts cash… colones or dollars .
