Literally the only thing was Mosquitos, but they are EVERYWHERE and it was no fault of the hotel/location/amenities or anything. We just dealt with them everywhere in Costa Rica, but often we were told it was because we were so sweet :)

My son and I traveled on a three week journey around the Nicoya Peninsula in the Guancaste Region and absolutely loved everything we experienced. We purposely saved this boutqiue hotel as our final and last spot and I am so glad we did because it was the PERFECT way to spend our last 5 nights. The location, grounds, boho charm meets costa rican excellence. Javier and his staff ( if you even want to call them staff everyone is like family and treat you the same) took such good care of us and made us feel so welcome and attended to. The even had a sunday pool party with a DJ which was family friendly too and it was a blast! I met so many new people that way. The food ( especially their sushi) was amazing! We love this place and can't recommend it enough! We are coming back in October!!!

We enjoyed our 6-night stay at the Curiol villa. It was a great place to explore all of Guanacaste Province and just a short walk to the beach. The breakfast and facilities were excellent.

All I can say is that I wish we had stayed here for more than one night. The property was stunning. So boho, so chic! The drinks, the food, the staff, all phenomenal. We were a little apprehensive about staying in a tent, but they come with fans and a little air conditioner! It's quiet, and the staff were kind enough to take our music requests! Would absolutely recommend to anyone passing through Potrero.

Due to the weather being windy and rainy in the afternoons, the pool had leaves most of the time, but the staff did an excellent job of cleaning it regularly.

The staff was so friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. The food was delicious. Our lodging was perfect for our family of 5 to feel comfortable and spread out with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen to make meals, and 3 bedrooms. The location was a perfect jumping off place for several different destinations. We will definitely return!

The food at the restaurant isn’t good. I had to send back an omelet because it was drenched in oil or butter. The sushi isn’t great either (too greasy, too much fried stuff!). Watch out for mangoes falling from the trees onto the rooftops — they make a crazy loud noise!

The Curiol Hotel is a real favorite! It’s located slightly off the beaten path, so it’s not caught up in the craziness of the main street, yet it’s less than a 10-minute walk to the beach. The decor is absolutely stunning! You can easily spend the whole day by the pool under the trees, in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The room was very comfortable and had air conditioning. The pool is beautiful! The staff is kind and welcoming.

While we truly enjoyed our stay, there were a few areas that could be improved. The food and service did not quite meet our expectations. Additionally, the kitchen at the Boho House was missing some basic essentials—such as a garbage can, dish towels, and staple items like salt, pepper, and cooking oil—which made meal prep a bit challenging. That said, we didn’t reach out to request these items, and we’re confident the staff would have been responsive had we done so.

We had a wonderful stay at the Boho House. The two-level layout and rooftop deck were perfect for our family, offering ample space and the flexibility for everyone to enjoy both shared time and moments of privacy. The property's aesthetic is thoughtfully curated—stylish, inviting, and very much in line with the boho-chic vibe we love. The pool was a highlight, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

My only complaint, although the breakfast was delicious, they could do with more variety.

We stayed at the villa for 4 nights and wish we had stayed longer. Simply amazing! It was private, clean, exclusive, tranquil, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Despite this property being in Costa Rica the villa had some Canadian touches which made me feel close to the west coast of Canada. Loved the Costa Rican bird murals too. Would highly recommend staying here. Especially for a week or more. Loved the dinner menu which included sushi which was absolutely delicious. It was also nice waking up to howler monkeys and spotting the odd Iguana wandering or lounging on the property. Overall, Curiol is a special place and it will always be close to my heart. I cannot wait to go back again.

Small funky quiet natural boutique hotel. New in 2024. Amazingly integrated into its mature trees and garden. Near beaches, and about 90 minutes to LIR airport. Excellent food and staff. Would return. (Bathroom open to the outside, but that was not an issue for us).
