I wish the restaurant served more local cuisine and the rooms could accommodate a whole family.

It’s very peaceful and the pool, bar and restaurant area is lovely. The staff were great and we really enjoyed our time there. The tours were great, especially the turtle tour.

Some damage due to high humidity, for example the safe boxes.

Well maintained gardens, confortable room; nice details, for example the 'ranario' in a corner of the garden, where you can spot red-eyed tree frogs. The trail from the hotel to the village is excellent for spotting wildlife (morpho buterflies, macaws, I even saw a green vine snake)

Tortuguero is the most amazing place, being just out of town but 10min walk in seeing all the flora and fauna in abundance was such a great experience. Also sitting in the rocking chairs on the deck, watching river life was so idyllic The wildlife around the lodges was amazing, especially the birdlife 🥰🥰 Nice pool area to dip and cool off in ... Just a great experience

The room without AC was uncomfortably hot, especially in the day but even at night. The fan was a slow fan and it was not sufficient to move air in the room. Wifi did not extend to the rooms which would have been nice.

The location was wonderful. Right on the river and the ocean. Perfect for early morning walks on the beach and just 15 minutes from the town. The sitting areas in the river were peaceful and beautiful. The pool was very relaxing and beautiful. The breakfast was delicious with fruit, breads, juices and eggs if desired. The arrangements for tours were convenient and guides did a nice job. Communication with the desk was good as I had to change my reservation last minute.

The staff/servers at dinner need better training. They walk around without asking if guests need or would like anything. We had to get their attention a couple of times. That was only at dinner in the main dining room. The rest of the time, everything was great

Tortoguero is a hidden place far away from cities, cars, etc. I think that's something that needs to be kept in mind when travelling here. The hotel had everything we needed, food, swimming pool, big garden. You can even book tours in Tortoguero through the hotel, which is perfect because then the pick up is directly at the hotel. The room was what we needed to sleep and rest. Something we didn't expect is that the room didn't have windows, but rather just a net so mosquitoes and other bugs don't get in. Since there is no airco but a fan, this is helpful during the night to cool the room down. We were initially worried it would be too warm to sleep but it was actually completely fine, as it rains a lot (especially in May) and since there are no actual windows it cools down to a good temperature to sleep :) Makes you feel a bit more like you're part of nature. There is only wifi in the common areas but that's okay as we were very busy with tours and sitting at the swimming pool. We loved our time in Tortoguero also thanks to Mawamba :)

a few more signs around the property would be helpful, we were forever getting lost (probably our fault) & was not easy to find the path that then leads into the town. dinner food could be slightly improved for the cost, but it was still nice :)

Power out, so no fan for one night which was pretty hot, I think it affected the entire area though. Food at the restaurant was fine.

Very peaceful, beautiful grounds, loved listening to the rain while sitting on the rocking chairs by the river.

Amazing location with a garden teeming with wildlife. Friendly, helpful staff who looked after us really well and the tour guides were knowledgeable and full of character. Room was super comfortable although it was a bit dark during overcast weather and some of the electric sockets didn’t seem to function.

We had a great time at the Mawamba Lodge. The hotel staff is very friendly and willing to assist you. The hotel’s grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the hotel is a pleasant 15 minute walk from downtown.

The location is beautiful with an amazing garden with abundance of wildlife and a lovely pool area . The hotel is situated on the same side of the village which is easy to reach by foot . Breakfast and staff service was also very good.

That's an amazing location in tourtugera. We loved the room in the nature. There it' easy to make tours and the staff helps to organise. Arrivel and departure are perfect organised.
