How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation is amazing! Very beautiful view. The price was very good for this hotel. Rooms are clean and quite new. Very friendly staff too! I did the morning walk with the guide and saw many sloths 🦥. Was a really nice tour to do! Price quality wise I think this was the by far the best hotel in Costa Rica for us! There is a big garden where you can walk around and find all kind of frogs etc.
We had to leave after one night. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Verified reviewThe staff was helpful and friendly. The food was tasty and the place was clean. There were toucans and sloths right near the breakfast area!
The bed wasn’t a bit firm and it was a very steep drive to get to the hotel with a very steep walkway up from the parking to the reception area.

Verified reviewAmazing location with the mountain/jungle/sea views. Wow. The hanging bridges were so much fun. Super comfy bed for me, a little firm, which I like. My family were not as keen. Good breakfast and fantastic staff.
Personal choice as I liked the firm bed, but my family were less keen.

Verified reviewClean, comfy room. The view everywhere are beautiful and the feel of being in the jungle is very cool! We also did a free tour around the proprety on the hanging bridges that was included in our stay and it was very cool! We saw sloths, monkeys, toucans and various plants. Our guide was very helpful!
Wifi was buffering most of the time and the areas around the hotel are a bit messy (clearly in construction of some sort).

Verified reviewAmazing, everything was perfect. The facilities were super clean and fresh, good environment, view to the mountains, free coffe, good breakfast. The staff were also super friendly, we got a free walking tour and we saw a lot of cool animals, like tucans, sloths, monkeys, etc, right outside the hotel. I would definitely stay there again, totally recommended.

Verified reviewOur room isn’t among the main building, it is cheaper than the rooms in the main building. We feel that a good value for money. The best is the breakfast. The view is beautiful, we saw toucans in a quite close distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. The park is big, the free tour is good but if you have been to other national parks, it is not very necessary .

Verified reviewQuiet and beautiful. Literally in the jungle - we saw more wildlife here from the hanging bridges and trails than we saw in Manuel Antonio Park. Wonderful staff, clean comfortable air conned rooms. Nice breakfast included. Good wifi from the rooms. Warm welcoming staff.
Just a caution due to the mountain location and steep paths and cobblestones, use caution when walking in the wet, it can be a bit slippery.

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. First of all, it has amazing views of the rainforest and the beach. Secondly, every interaction we have with the staff, was nice and cordial. And Finally, its location is perfect. You're close to nature, however within 5 minutes walking there is a restaurant and 10 more minutes there is the bus stop that will take you to the beaches and Manuel Antonio park. I highly recommend it.

Verified reviewThe rooms were modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped. The views were stunning, adding to the overall experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always ready to assist. The included tour of the hotel grounds was also appreciated, as our guide José was very knowledgeable and managed to spot quite a few animals.
The hotel building is still under construction, so there are some noises coming from the floors above.

Verified reviewGreat location within its own nature park near Manual Antonio NP, fabulous views at breakfast, good quality food, helpful staff, good value, Netflix in bedroom!
A few minor issues - the bedroom safe didn’t work (previous guest left it locked), the aircon was hard to understand (an instruction note would be useful)

Verified reviewEverything was new and modern, made in America. The staff was nice and very accommodating. The breakfast was good. We loved the jungle around, birds, monkeys, salamandras.
It was raining and this hotel is on the top of the mountain, really difficult to drive on the inclined roads. This location is new, and it was still in work, so the construction team will just turn off the water or the electricity without any advance notice. The room is super small and no fluffy blankets.

Verified reviewBeautiful views with lots of wildlife around. Great, clean rooms/facilities and very friendly staff. Breakfast was great.
The road up/down the property is quite steep so you definitely need a car. It’s all paved so any car should make it but wouldn’t stay here without a car

Verified reviewReally lovely place. Absolute hidden gem. Lovely little Hotel on top of a hill. Nice rooms, super friendly staff and great breakfast. The main attraction though is the park grounds. It's a huge garden with hanging bridges and hidden trails with tons of animals living here. We got greeted every morning by macaws, toucans and monkeys. You gotta get up with sunrise for that, but you only need to step out on your balcony. We saw snakes, agoutis and frogs hanging around the park as well. Would also recommend our guide Jose for the morning tour.
My only criticism is that the restaurant did not have any vegetarian or vegan options for dinner (breakfast had plenty!). Apart from that it was a perfect stay for us.

Verified reviewWe stayed for 3 nights there and we didn’t realize that we are going to be inside the rainforest. Every day I would wake up to birds chirping and would step out to be greeted by Toucons and Macaws flying around. The hanging bridges became my daily route to go to the breakfast table. Have never felt so close to nature as here. A must try experience

Verified reviewThe location was excellent! Loved being immersed in nature and finding random animals all around outside our room. Staff were also very lovely!
We were in a separate building lower down the hill from the main hotel, and so we didn’t get the spectacular mountain-top views that we were hoping for. This wasn’t communicated at the time of booking, but it’s no big deal.
