Evening menu is limited and few desserts to keep kids happy. But minor complaint overall.

The pictures online don't do this place justice. The gardens are immaculate and beautiful. Pool is lovely and well looked after. Great location for the waterfall and hot springs, local swimming spots. Hotel breakfast is good value and food generally fine and good value. Friendly staff.

Nothing- I would recommend a car (it is off the beaten path -a five minute drive from the main strip) and use google maps one you are in town as Waze doesn’t have it.

We couldn't find it.There are no signs or addresses. We followed directions and once we were on the right street we still couldn't tell which building was the hotel. We also had terrible directions for a sloth tour a d never did find it.

It was a beautiful place even in the rain. Food at the restaurant was great.

We have never slept on a harder bed, and had very limited hot water in the shower.

Beautiful grounds and very well maintained. Great pool area with several hot tubs. Swim up bar must only be open during the busy season - was cute but closed.

Everything was perfect: the room, the gardens, the pools and the staff. It’s a very nice hotel, perfect for those who want to relax and stay in contact with nature. Since we traveled with our 1 year-old baby, we decided to have diner at the hotel restaurant the 3 nights we were there. Food was delicious, service was very good and prices were correct. The room itself was big and very comfortable.

The only thing i'd point out is that in the pool area, the two 'hot' tubs are warmed by a stream of very hot water that pours in from above. If you don't know what it is, it is easy to get burned by accidentally touch it.

Excellent location just outside of La Fortuna. Great for families or travelers with rental cars. Easy parking and a variety of lodging options between the guest houses and bungalows. Breakfast was included in our stay and also very good which made mornings much easier with our children in tow. Good views of the volcano from the property on a clear day. Landscaping is beautiful and lots of birds fly in and around the property. Pool area was great for the kids in between our daily activities.

Staff just did not seem friendly, aside from the reception staff the staff were poor. There was noone available at the bars, when you could order a drink it took a looooong time, and in the restaurant breakfast was thrown at us and getting coffee was an effort.

Great hotel in great location, the room was spacious , lovely and well equipped! (2 bed house). Pool area was amazing, great to have hot tubs right with the pool, reception staff at check in and check out were helpful and informative. Local area fantastic to explore, loved the waterfalls and hot springs, had a good walk round arsenal paths.

The breakfast was ok, ala carte with 3 choices. The portions could be bigger. There were just 2 small shelves in our room and 4 hooks - we couldn't unpack our suitcases.

We had the room on the first floor behind in the garden - that was really excellent because of the 2 balconies and the view. We could see some birds from our room and it felt like sleeping in the jungle - unbelievable how loud the crickets and cicadas could be. The pool is quite big and open from 7am till 10pm with 3 hot tubs. The hotel has it own restaurant - also open the whole day long.

The orientation of some of the rooms made them appear dark and less inviting than the upstairs units.

We really liked Orquideas. It felt like a vacation resort with beautifully maintained grounds and large pools. There is a restaurant on premises that we ate at after a late arrival. This is also where they serve breakfast in the morning, where you can choose from 4 breakfast options. The Wifi is fast and available throughout the property. We were in rooms 13 (upstairs) and 14 (downstairs). The upstairs room was light and had windows on both sides. But the downstairs unit was dark and smelled a bit musty when the AC was off. But overall, we enjoyed our stay and would come back again.

A bit like being at Disneyland or Centerparcs it was so clean and regimented! Older lady at the restaurant very off hand and grumpy! Chairs in restaurant very low so you feel like your plate is up under your nose!! Lots of smoochy couples in the pool!!

the hot tubs weren't really "hot" - in the morning they were cold, in the afternoon they got luke warm - the dinner at the restaurant was just OK, not great value for money
