The place was amazing. It Took us 2 minutes to a beautiful beach. And the owner was also really nice! The room was big And clean and the garden was amazing. It was a great stay!

Water accumulates in the shower and drains really slow.

Beach adjacent, just a 2 minute walk and you are at the wild beach. Not many people around, so it was almost like I had my own private beach. Quiet and peaceful, and luckily there were 2 fans to keep cool. Plenty of options for food in town and a good grocery store, so I was able to cook breakfast myself.

It was perfect.

We had an excellent stay at Playa Grande Lodge. The grounds are lovely with plenty of wildlife. We were really lucky as we even saw a sloth in the garden! Our appartment was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed. The fact that the hotel is beachfront was a big bonus. We loved going for a morning walk on Playa Grande to watch the sunrise. And finally the hosts, Gianluca and Mia, are wonderfull: very welcoming and they gave us great tips for exploring the area. Would highly reccomend!

A little problem with the property entrance key, but nothing like that to get your creativity going

This was a little vacation to celebrate life and man, we hit jackpot!! Gianluca was a great host with super clear directions, and he helped us map potential places to visit and go eat. I forgot to take pictures, but the lodge was absolutely gorgeous, and our room had all that you needed for visiting Cahuita. Gianluca and Mia, thank you for your hospitality, your great vibes, and your blessings for our trip! See you on the next one!!

We got the bungalows here on Booking but I must admit that I was very confused by the offerings on Booking. When I looked (and double checked) they only showed pictures of the treehouse (which is a single room, they don’t have more than one) and Booking only offered bungalows (which is a completely different room. And Booking didn’t have pics of the bungalows) I’m not upset, I figured it out before I arrived but this listing should be changed to reflect more accurately what you’re going to get. The heat was nothing that the hotel controls but the fans seemed insufficient for a few of us. We were sleeping in the same heat in several different hotels and this was the only one that was too warm to sleep. Hopefully they are able to upgrade the fans (or perhaps it was user error?)

This location is steps from the beach (which varies on how swimmable it is. Riptides might make it so you can only wade a bit) We heard and saw lots of wildlife. The rooms were well cleaned. The staff was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Overall it was a great experience. I also recommend eating at restaurante bananas just a few steps away as well. The food was great and the service lovely.

Absolutely amazing place very close to the beautiful and deserted Playa Grande. Gia and Mia are the best hosts imaginable. Lovely room with nice touches eg. mini bar with drinks and snacks. Delicious breakfast with lots of varieties. Nice dinner place nearby.

We stayed in the treehouse so that was incredible. It’s beautiful and underneath is a fully equipped kitchen. Gianluca and Mia are lovely hosts and you get a great breakfast included that’s brought to your accommodation. It’s near the beach and a little bit of a walk to Cahuita but I didn’t mind that. Loved waking up to the birds. And howler monkeys. Truly felt like I was in the jungle

GianLuca and Mia are wonderful hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home. They are excellent communicators, helping us arrange tours even before we arrived. Every morning they brought us delicious breakfasts on trays which we enjoyed while sitting on the lovely porch of the cottage we'd rented. They connected us to a wonderful taxi driver, Adrian, who also ended up being a great guide (we saw a sloth moving under an electric light at night!) While the Lodge is a bit of a walk from town (10-15 minutes), it is also quiet (except for the howlers and parrots, which is great fun!) and there's easy access to the almost empty Playa Grande beach. There are two very good restaurants nearby, Bananas and Caribbean Coconut, both of which we enjoyed. They will be fixing up the rooms even more, since this lodge is a fairly recent purchase for them. All in all, we would highly recommend Playa Grande.

The owners were very friendly, nice, and helpful. They assisted us with many things and also with tours. The place was clean and had everything we needed to cook our own food. The location is really good. It's walking distance to 2 restaurants and a small beach. But if you want to swim, better drive to the city. You get to experience calmness and nature very closely.

Road to the property was unpaved and perhaps further from Cahuita than we realised. Nearest beach (which was very close)wasn't suitable for swimming whilst we were there.

Property was in beautiful grounds, room and bathroom was very clean with a nice outside seating area. The breakfast was excellent, with great choice. GianLuca & Mia were excellent hosts with great communication. Lots of wildlife in close proximity.

Everything was perfect, Gianluca and Mia are great hosts, always available if you need anything. They bring your breakfast (4 different choices) on your terrace each morning, freshly made. The lodge is perfectly located, just 1 minute away from the gorgeous Playa Grande. Thanks again for everything, it was really great!
