Very recommendable place to stay for families

The interior was basic, but complete. It's an eco lodge, so in my opinion one should not expect luxury. The main disappointment were the fans in our lodge. They were quite shabby. There's no aircon, so you really need them at night.

Simply a very nice ECO location. Beautiful surroundings and very pleasant staff. We enjoyed their homemade breakfast and dinner. The manager is great source of reliable information. I recommend the river hike!

Some aspects were a little too rustic for me and past their best (light fittings etc), and - as expected - it’s by no means shiny accommodation, but it was great value with wonderful eco credentials.

Our hosts were incredible - serving us delicious, healthy and hearty breakfasts and dinners, William’s care to assist us with bookings and arrange a perfect birthday cake surprise for our youngest; Esteban’s fun and informative hike and tour of the local river and waterfall, and the gorgeous, friendly, resident pet cats and dogs who delighted our boys with their company from the moment we arrived. Such a natural and beautiful location, with a waterfall-fed pool in the middle of the jungle. A fantastic first stop in Costa Rica for our family. We loved the sustainability aspect of this accommodation.

I wish there was AC for those real hot days, but the fans in the rooms helped. I wish the restrooms were a bit bigger.

The staff were great, the rooms are big, the property is beautiful. Hearing the rain coming down is so relaxing. The shared lounge area has a hammock, fridge and sink area. Very nice restaurant 5 minute walk away.

Our room was very, very spartan and the one picture over our bed was ...Cape Cod I think? Just a colorful pillow or something local and colorful on the wall would have been nice. Also the jungle paths contained some discarded wrappers etc. a bummer when you want to be immersed in nature.

I loved the jungle paths down to the pools..the natural surroundings. The food was some of the most delicious we had during our stay in Costa Rica. Walking down to the dining area and having breakfast looking out on trees and the birds was lovely. I loved having a hammock outside our room. It was also quiet and removed from road noise.

Far from the main town if you don't have a car, but Uber works in the area!

Beautiful location in the midst of the rainforest. Very quiet location and lots to explore nearby. William and his team are so lovely, really looked after us! We loved their tour around the property and the visit to the river and waterfall. Fantastic place to connect with Costa Rica's nature.

the room configuration was a bit confusing so we ended up getting two rooms when the small house they had would have been fine. It was too late to change it

Rustic but lovely. You need a 4x4 ideally to get there though a cat could manage it. William was very good at communication

The facilities we’re a bit crude. No problem for me, but the teenage girl was afraid bugs or worse could get in to our cabin.

Each cabin was separated from the rest, do you feel like you’re out in the middle of the forest.

Our only suggestion would be to offer basic room servicing for longer stays—emptying garbage, fresh towels, and a quick sweep every couple of days would make a big difference. Overall, a fantastic place to relax and connect with nature.

We had a wonderful five-night stay at this beautiful ecolodge. The rooms are spacious, the views are stunning, and the property is truly serene. Meals were delicious, and we loved meeting fellow travelers from around the world. The guided nature hike was a highlight—challenging, fun, and informative. Staff were friendly, especially Anderson, and the two dogs and cats added charm to the experience.

Our second time back to Princesa de la Luna because we love it so much! Perfect authentic, eco-lodge experience. In the heart of the forest but conveniently close to La Fortuna. It's magical and the staff is so welcoming. Breakfasts are our favorite and enjoying the gorgeous views from the porch. We also love walking around on the different trails around the property.

I loved this place! The location was absolutely stunning, William who takes care of the place was incredibly kind and helpful. I suggest everyone to join the family style dinner. It was one of the best meals I had in Costa Rica. Fresh, delicate and honest. Banana pancake for breakfast was absolutely yummy. This place feels like true paradise, with exotic birds and sloths hanging around. The property is huge so you can take a walk following the trails.

The facilities are getting a bit run down, details like missing screens etc. Having said that, the rooms are spacious and the layout feels tradition and welcoming — it just needs some attention. Loved the mature gardens.

Immersed in nature with beautiful location on the side of Arenal. What really makes this property are the staff! You feel the warm welcome of Costa Ricans at Princesa. We loved the welcome dogs and the laid back vibe of the place. I would definitely stay again!

It was kind of confusing figuring out where check-in/reception and the restaurant was. Both are located at the eastern end of the property. There was no signage or anything. Road leading up to the lodges is kind of rundown. I recommend using a higher clearance vehicle to get there.

Quiet, remote location surrounded by the rainforest. Friendly staff.

Pool was very remote down a ravine with muddy uneven steps making it difficult amd unsuitable for young kids. Holiday home, better described as open air cabin, while surrounded by fruit trees is separated from main property (has the view of the volcano). Mosquitoes were prevalent.

Beautiful location. Breakfast was the best of the trip! Hammock was wonderfully relaxing.

Unfortunately we couldn't stay for longer.

The location is just fantastic, with beautiful rainforest surrounding it and the ability to witness animals in their natural habitat from the comfort of your balcony. The staff were all hugely welcoming and friendly, in particular Anderson. All of the meals we had were delicious, and we loved the different juices each day. The river walk we did was joyous, and we learnt lots of interesting facts from the guides. It included a waterfall, which was perfect for pictures. Overall, it was a fabulous experience. I would definitely recommend!

Adequate shelter in an excellent location, with the nature aspect making up for the very basic room.

The room was very rudimentary. In C.R. you don't hang out in your room, you hang out in the outdoor area where the chairs and couches are (it's a shared area so you may have to get to know the people next door. The room itself had no A/C, just a fan, and no screens on the windows so if you opened the windows at night to cool off many bugs were going to end up in the room. No chairs, the only furniture was the beds and one night stand, along with the rack shelving. No lamps - the lighting was two very bright and harsh overhead bare light bulbs.

A great location (sort of remote, a few miles up a typical Costa Rican dirt road), the grounds are great and there are lots of Toucans in the area. The "adventure tour" they offer takes you down to a waterfall and then you basically walk in the river to where the tour ends. It was great! There is a pretty good restaurant right across the road (Chicas).

Very rustic- no AC but they had fans in every room which helped a lot- but no windows opened in the living room- so that room was always very hot despite the fan. It had a washer- but I have never seen anything quite like it- it was like you washed in one side and then spun in the other. There was not a dryer and no place to hang dry anything- so we weren’t able to do any laundry (which I was expecting to do).

Very private- our room/casa has an amazing outdoor space with hammocks that we all loved. There was an onsite waterfall and 2 stream fed pools as well. Owner William and Anderson were both very helpful.
