It's a perfect stay after a long flight! It is very closed to the airport located in a beautiful garden. so you can perfectly start your Costa Rica trip there. The breakfast was delicious and the stuff very friendly and helpful. We booked our car through the hotel. Bernie, the hotel owner, managed this for us in advance and the car was delivered in the morning directly to the hotel. This was great. We definitely recommend that hotel!

Beautiful property close to the airport for our final stay. Host Berni greeted us late at night to show us into the property and get us settled and had a to go breakfast ready for us at 5:45 am. He also offered very helpful tips to prepare for our trip to Costa Rica.

The Pura Vida is a perfect place to relax & recover from a long haul flight! Our room was very spacious, comfortable & clean in the surroundings of a beautiful garden . Breakfast was a wonderful selection of fresh fruit, yogurt & bread pudding, which was yummy! The host Bernie was very informative and gave some excellent recommendations for a day trip & restaurants. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

Our villa was fabulous. Lots of room, clean, and private, with a nice front deck looking into incredible gardens. The owners were wonderful & entertaining. Our supper was the best we had in our 16 days in Costa Rica. I wish we had had more time here.

Beds are quite hard which seemed to be fairly typical.

The roomy and well maintain private casitas/cabins with lots of windows and a large outdoor stone patio. The cabins are spread out throughout the beautiful and quiet property but are connected via many winding stone paths through gardens full of tropical trees, plants and flowers. The owners Bernie and Nhi along their staff were very welcoming and eager to assist their guests.

The location is outside of downtown Alajuela so you will need to get a taxi or use a car to get around once you leave the property.

Great location for late arrival to SJO (or early departures). Beautiful and convenient private villas in a garden like setting. Caring, accomodating and helpful hosts (helped us with a car rental and provided a lot of local information).

Breakfast is nice even if a bit on the simpler side. The owner has a somewhat grumpy style. I'm fine with that but worked less well with our kids

Great place to stay after a long journey, travelling from the UK. We arrived very late but were warmly welcomed. In the morning we had a lovely breakfast in the beautiful garden. Thoroughly recommend, especially if you're looking for peace and quiet not too far from the airport. Extra bonus: our car hire company (Wild Rider) delivered to Pura Vida, making for a very easy departure.

The owner provides you with very valuable advices. he also helped us to book the rental car. The hotel is close to airport and on the way to Poas Volcano.

The hotel is on the crossroads and therefore a bit noisy in early morning. But consider you are in city and there will be no tranquility around.

Berni and his wife are fantastic hosts. The casitas and gardens are beautiful. Berni went out of his way to help 4 "refugees" escaping Monteverde during a tropical storm, which brought days of rain and flooding. He convinced us to make the 5 hr trip to the Caribbean coast and assisted us with finding a place to stay. Additionally, he connected us with an indigenous guide who took us on a personal journey into the jungle and educated us on his culture, way of life, and heritage. Berni was very helpful and provided tips and suggestions that were very helpful for 1st time visitors.

Beautiful bungalow ina secluded garden. Spacious, well furnished and quite a one-off, not a bland multi national hotel this!

Access, to ensure security was through a locked door, and although there was no delay in the door being opened, it felt a little restrictive to me.
