Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe restaurant food was only ok. What was really disappointing was finding out that they charged us triple what the tours were worth. I would highly recommend booking directly w the tour operators and not though the hotel. I can understand charging a convenience fee, but I think charging us three times the price, for the same tour, is outrageous and has put a damper on an otherwise amazing holiday.
Loved the resort, the staff and the location.

BelgiumBeautiful resort - large and comfortable suites - don't think there is anything better in the neighbourhood - we only stayed for one night but with hindsight should have stayed a bit longer. The staff is even more friendly compared to other places in Costa Rica.

United StatesRestaurant had bad wine selection ($10-20 bottles USD per Vivino App) that were selling for 6-10x price. Stick with the mixed drinks or beer.
The rooms were large, clean and the bathrooms were amazing. Large showers were great. Private outdoor shower a pleasant surprise. The grounds were perfectly manicured and lush and surrounded by wildlife. We took a hike on the properties "Avocado Trail" down to the river and it was very well maintained, quiet and led to the Rio Celeste. Also participated in the complimentary yoga in the afternoon. The yoga facility is open on the sides but covered so you could watch the mist and listen to the rain while participating in the yoga session led by Jeremy who was amazing! There was nobody else in the class so it was perfect way to stretch and relax after a long active day. The photos on website don't do this place justice!

United StatesWow, a beautiful space in the centre of the Rio Celeste area. Location was perfect, while the facilities, staff, restaurant, pool, gym, Yoga, and room were all worth the price. Best place by far that we stayed in our 2 week trip in Costa Rica.

United StatesLoved the pool area, the hiking trails, and seeing sloths, monkeys and toucans on the property. The room stayed nice and cool which is very important to us as we are a hot natured family from Texas. The beds are so comfortable and the bathroom is very spacious. Our favorite thing about this resort was the staff! Paolo, Dylan, Kathy, Nelson, and Juan Pablo were just the most wonderful people. I wish I could remember all of the names of everyone there who was so helpful and accommodating. I would give this resort 15 stars if I could! We are definitely going back next Thanksgiving!

United StatesOrdering two 12$ cocktails at the fun swim-up bar, asking to make them “doubles” & being charged $54! Would have preferred 4 full size cocktails for the price! Surprise, No bueno.
Hotel access to the Rio Celeste for a dip. Pool & 3 hot jacuzzis with swim up bar were crystal clean & a nice surprise. 12:00noon checkout is very convenient for hiking to the river in the morning.

United StatesThere was nothing we didn't like... maybe - we didn't like that we had to leave so soon :).
This property was amazing and truly a hideaway. The room was incredible, the bathroom was clean and spacious, the outdoor shower was a beautiful, romantic touch. Each room is nestled behind well manicured landscaping where you can sit on the patio and feel like you are in the rainforest. The pool was nice and spacious with three jacuzzis and the gym was nicely equipped and very clean. We absolutely loved the delicious breakfast buffet and the amazing service provided by the staff. Their green juice was yummy and if you love spicy sauces, ask for the salsa picante (made there) and Lizano (can be bought at the market in CR). The staff helped us purchase tickets to the Rio Celeste waterfall and it was everything I expected and more. This was absolutely a treat to stay at the Hideaway Rio Celeste. We ate at the local Soda Irma (the plates are huge so beware) and the Blue River Brewing Co while we were there - both were great.

One of the top three nicest hotels I've ever visited. Hideaway Rio Celeste was absolutely stunning from top to bottom, I only wish we had more time to stay. I had seen the property before and thought it was gorgeous, but was nervous to book a luxury hotel with an unpredictable, potentially crying, infant. Hideaway Rio Celeste was so welcoming to us, and happily provided a travel crib. First of all, the location itself feels like a private oasis and was the perfect halfway point between La Fortuna and Liberia Airport. There's not a ton around in terms things to do and places to eat, but the hotel essentially provides fantastic options for all of that. We only stayed for one night but would definitely come back for longer in the future. The morning before our checkout, we hiked the hotel's exclusive trails to Rio Celeste, and were able to swim in the gorgeous water (which you can't do if accessing the river from the National Park.) There were two difficulty options, and the Armadillo Trail was perfect for us with our infant in his carrier. We ate both dinner and breakfast (included) in the restaurant and it was wonderful. (They're also in the process of building a new Asian restaurant that it seems will be finished soon.) The wait staff was absolutely wonderful, the dinner entertainment was fantastic. Yes, the meal was a bit pricey but was fairly consistent with what we'd found for pricing throughout our stay in Costa Rica. We also had the best time watching the many, many exotic species of birds in front of the dining room window while we ate breakfast. We stayed in an absolutely stunning Garden View Casita. It was so private and so spacious. So many nice touches eveywhere-- including a private viewing porch and an amazing outdoor shower. The beds were so comfortable, the AC and water pressure were amazing. Again, just sad we didn't have more time to spend there. We'll be back!

It was pouring rain a lot of the time and that didn't deter us at all...the pool was heated and the jacuzzis SUPER HOT... Umbrellas everywhere for walking around...The staff was incredible...always smiling and sincerely friendly. Great location for day excursions to waterfalls, night frog hikes, hanging bridges, river floats etc...

United StatesWe were greeted right away by the cute bartender Anthony with delicious welcome drinks. Rachel at the front desk checked us in really quick and had the room ready for us. Juan Pablo helped us bring our luggage to the room he was always super helpful. The room was beautiful and very well decorated with an amazing balcony overlooking the forest..we actually got a monkey that visited us the one night. All the Staff at this place are so nice, a lot of them are just starting and love that the owner lets them learn as they go..I was lucky to meet the owner Angelo at the bar..he even got me a drink in the house..a very nice man down to earth and from what i heard from the staff he is an amazing boss to work for. the pool was fun..met Josue the bartender/waiter who always had a smile on his face. jason The barista and bartender was also super nice and takes pride at what he does. the one day I decided to have a massage and the guy was so great his name is Juan carlos and recommend 100%.. i came out like new. All the other staff members were wonderful and knowledgeable..Mariano, Katherine, ismael, cristian,Emily,Nahomy. the manager Nelson was super attentive at anything we needed...the cleaning guy Daniel even tried to help me looking for the sloth ..front desk was also amazing with anything we needed Oscar and Manfred great people. we saw lots of animals in this property and our favorite part was the blue river that goes through the property..also loved that Rio Celeste waterfall was not far from the hotel..we actually walked from the hotel all the way there. Can't wait to go back to this place and its wonderful people. Alex and Ted

United StatesA luxury hideaway in the rainforest! We loved our quiet, private bungalow with its beautifully carved wooden furniture, canopy bed, and the gorgeous outdoor shower set in its own little walled garden. There is a little trail down to the scenic Celeste River on the property. Be sure to book a night tour to have a guide show you all the creatures you wouldn’t notice otherwise, including venomous snakes! The staff are super friendly and very helpful in booking activities. The nearby hike into Tenario National Park is well worth the effort (there are some steep climbs and lots of stairs to see the waterfall). Tubing on Rio Celeste was really fun. And, at the end of the day, the resort’s pool, hot tubs, and swim-up bar are idyllic. The open air restaurant is gorgeous, the food is really good, and there was live music at dinner. We can’t imagine a nicer place to stay in the area.
