Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe gym was terrible....treadmills did not work and they were missing half of the freeweights....spa and onsite restaurant were overpriced as well
Breakfast was great including the staff, pool was nice but the jacuzzi is not warm which was a little deceiving in the pictures....room was nice with a fridge and coffee maker...I didn't like the bar of soap so bought my own body wash....small mini mart close to hotel...saw lots of monkeys, birds and iguanas.

IrelandWe had a ground floor room. Each morning the cleaning staff congregated outside. We got very little rest because of the noise from their staff radios which kept us awake from early morning. The food was expensive
The pool facilities were excellent. The central location both to restaurants and shops and it is right beside manual Antonio National Park entrance.

United StatesI got there early in the day and had the hotel provide a taxi to pick me up from the airport and bring me to the hotel, so they knew what time I would arrive (10:45am). However they did not let me check in early - they made me wait until 3pm. I'm not sure if this is because I booked on booking.com, or if this is always the policy. I got a massage and hung out at the pool bar waiting for check-in, then it started pouring rain. The bartender at the pool called the front desk to ask if I could check in early, and they said no, 3pm. So I was stuck outside in the rain for hours. Then when I finally checked into my room at 3pm, there were towels folded into animal shapes, and the toilet paper was folded decoratively with like 15 folds. Surely I would rather have checked in early than wait outside in the rain for the cleaning lady to make the toilet paper pretty. Also I was in room 505, which is right under the rooftop bar. The swinging door the bartenders use to go back and forth from behind the bar was very loud, and I could hear it in my room when I was trying to go to sleep. It was so loud I thought people were playing table tennis above me the first night. The bar closes at 10pm so it was quiet after that. So I would not recommend staying in room 505.
The hotel was right next to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park, which was super convenient. There are also restaurants and souvenir shops within walking distance. The food and drinks at the hotel restaurants were good, and the staff very friendly. The pool area was nice also - they had a swim up bar. I also enjoyed the spa and had a wonderful 90 minute deep tissue massage. The bed was comfortable and the ocean view from the room was great. It was very clean.

Hotel borders the national park Manuel Antonio, and is steps from the beach. Monkeys in the trees in the morning and iguanas running around. Great breakfast, and nice rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to restaurants.

United StatesHousekeeping varied from day to day. Some days excellent - some days they did not replace coffee, wash clothes or leave enough toilet paper.
The rooms were spacious with plenty of room for your belongings. They offered a nice welcome drink, chocolates and a cold towel. But the best part was the location - at the entrance of the park and a short walk to the beach The guided tour of the park they arranged was phenomenal.

United KingdomI had the impression that the hotel was closer to the beach and would have had a view of the sea and loungers available there. The loungers by the pool were unbelievably uncomfortable
Fab rooftop bar. I enjoyed using the pool up there too. The breakfast was good and so were the evening meals that I had.

It's right next to the National Park so very convenient. Also you can see birds from the roof top bar (including scarlet macaws and singing toucans!). The tour to the private waterfalls was also well worth it!

MaltaThe sunbeds around the pool were extremely uncomfortable. Basically lying on wooden slats, with no cushioning. In the room the switches to turn out the lights were away from the beds so had to get out of bed to turn off bedside lights. The toilet in the bathroom is weirdly positioned a foot away from the sink, which is uncomfortable for using either the sink or the toilet. The breakfast was quite poor, with unpalatable looking food, with little taste due to low standard ingredients. Although the omelette made to order were quite good. The adult only rooftop pool was empty and not in use. The gym was not functional.
The staff were all super friendly and professional. The location next to the national park is perfect. Also wildlife inside the hotel grounds was wonderful. The room was large, with very comfy bed and had all you needed. Had a lovely balcony overlooking the jungle and distant sea view. The spa treatments were very good. The pool area is nice. Two choices of restaurant with the rooftop one having spectacular views.

United StatesThere were two things that really stood out. 1. The first thing doesn't have much to do with the hotel itself but it's still a factor; Getting to the hotel was difficult because of the proximity to the park. If you're driving you have to drive through an absolute mess of people, very narrow roads and traffic. It is quite hair-raising. It was further frustrating to have to repeat this every single time coming and going from the hotel. 2. The hot water seems to be very limited. I think it's because of solar. Seem like on sunny days we had more than enough. But on rainy days or at night there was very little hot water. Also, there was a lot of noise during the day from construction. This really shouldn't affect most people though and is probably temporary.
The location was truly amazing. You are basically inside Manuel Antonio Park. The staff were the nicest most helpful people. they were on top of our every need. It was quite wonderful to have that kind of consistent and upbeat customer service with every experience and interaction with the staff. The rooms were very nice. The pool was beautiful. The food tasted truly amazing. And it was a nice quick short walk to the beach. Very close to shops and restaurants.

United StatesThe only issue we had was a very long wait time at both top floor and bottom floor restaurant. We dined there our first two nights and waiting almost one hour for our food after we ordered! A few of the items were also not available. We ended up not eating there again except for breakfast which was fine.
