Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt’s tricky to find the first time, so arrive during the day. Not enough hooks in the bathroom for towels.
You truly felt like you were in the jungle. We loved the sloth, parrots, and blue morpho butterflies! The room was comfortable, but hot, although it cooled down during the evening with the ceiling fan. The pool was lovely. Catherine was a very helpful host.

United StatesOnly suggestion we have would be to add some hooks inside the apartment for drying towels. It is so rainy and humid that they never dried out on the patio, but hooks inside would help as the fans are really great indoors.
Cat was so friendly and helpful when we arrived and checking on us while we were out on the property. Loved the pool and it was very clean and well-maintained. This is a private location off the beaten path and in nature. Saw monkeys a few times and lots of birds. We stayed in the 2 BR apartment and it was small, but nice. We would go back for sure.

NetherlandsOpen kitchen resulted in ants on the kitchenette. Bathroom door wouldn't stay closed. Other doors difficult to open/close.
Quiet environment. Monkeys near the house and watching you during breakfast. Nice swimming pool. Easy to go to manuel antonio with own car or public transport. Hiking track close to accomodation.

United StatesWe wish the last leg of the drive to the lodging were not that bumpy.
We really enjoyed the setting of our room in the jungle where the rustic outdoor kitchen connect us to the nature . The bedroom and bath look out to the forest. The shower with 3 different heads was great. The place was built 6 years ago by European couple, Cat from France and Phil from Germany. The decoration of the lodge was very relaxing and comfortable. The swimming pool was a great escape for the hot humid weather. We also enjoyed meeting a white nosed coati, a vulture and a group of squirrel monkeys in the backyard. We woke up by all kind of sounds from animal kingdom ..... We appreciate that the hosting couple went out their way to welcome us with good fruits and assisted us.

United StatesFinding it without GPS at night wasn’t easy. That was my fault for my phone not working. For coffee lovers- the coffee machine is so fast that you’ll have to use a lot of coffee to get any taste. I ended up using my drip filter. For cooks-There’s only a single electric burner for cooking. The Kitchen utensils, cutting board, pots and pans are older. For lovers of quiet and clean air- This is not the owner’s fault but there’s noise and the smell of diesel exhaust from nearby construction that started at 7:30 AM on both of our mornings.
The jungle atmosphere and sounds, lizard in the kitchen, outdoor kitchen and sitting area, big glass doors that face the jungle from your bed, owner Cat, friendly dogs, the family bungalow was good for two people. The plates, cups , glassware and refrigerator were great.

MaltaA car, taxi (UBER is unreliable) or public transport (need a 15 minute walk to reach the nearest bus stop) is required to reach the town center.
The photos do not do this place any justice. It is exceptionally beautiful and located inside the jungle which provides a wonderful experience. Spotted lots of animals within the property premises, including chipmunks, monkeys, a Jesus lizard, and even a frog. Considering the location insects were surprisingly not an issue. The host also provided us with coffee for the entire duration of the stay as well as gave us a pineapple and 2 mangoes upon our arrival.

GermanyWe felt the price was too high. Our kitchen was not well equipped. We would have preferred a small electric stove. In addition, we did not receive fresh towels or room service for 2 nights. Basically, you don't need fresh towels every day. However, we were there during the rainy season, so our towels couldn't dry.
The lodge is well located in the middle of nature. We could sit nice outside to observate the animals. The bungalow has a huge Window, so that you can also watch the animals from inside the bed. The owners had recommended their neighbor to us for a tour in Manuel antonio, which was very good. The complex as a whole is very well maintained and the pool is also very tidy. The room does not have air conditioning, but this was not necessary as there was enough air circulation due to the design of the Bungalow and the fan and it was not hot or stuffy in the Room.

HungaryThe forest accommodation is located in the middle of the rainforest, in a particularly beautiful, orderly and well-maintained environment. In the cabin you really feel like you're out in nature, it's simply fantastic. The pool is easy to use and clean. Special point for the two cute dogs who are adorable :) Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely come back here!

United KingdomThere isn't a great pedestrian route to Quepos, however the surroundings of the lodge make up for it! It's easy to get in to town via car or taxi so this isn't really a problem.
We loved our stay in Selva Linda Lodge! Absolutely magical to be in the rainforest and be able to sit in hammocks on the balcony watching and listening to the wildlife. We saw quite a few monkeys during our stay! The facilities are great and it was lovely to dip in the pool after hot days. The check in and check out was easy too, and our hosts were very friendly. Thanks so much! Highly recommended!

United KingdomThe owners are strange… they wanted to be paid in cash, which is SO inconvenient (I know they tell you this before you arrive, but this really isn’t a good system at all). I rented all 3 bungalows so the total was close to $1,000. Obviously I don’t carry $1,000 cash around with me, so I asked if I could pay using transfer wise (the sender covers all the cost with transfer wise). The woman said that was fine, then later started saying ‘it’s not cool to pay this way…’ when she’d said it was fine the day before. So then I tried to get the cash in Quepos, which is nearly impossible. I don’t know if it was because it was over Christmas but none of the cash machines had even a quarter of the money I needed, so after trying for 2 days on 5 different cards, on the third day I spent an hour in the bank getting the cash on 2 different cards. This ended up costing nearly $80 in fees! This is a stupid way for guests to spend time, a stupid amount to pay to get cash and a bad way to treat guests. I don’t know if the owners want cash to avoid Costa Rican tax or just don’t understand technology, but in years I’ve never been asked to pay in cash for air Bnb/booking.com. Its 2023 and we have these amazing things called credit cards which mean guests don’t have to spend hours of their holiday at the bank, wasting money on crazy bank fees. Seriously just buy a card reader they cost $5.
Great pool, nice little bungalows overlooking the jungle. You can see a lot of wildlife and it’s really relaxing.
