You truly felt like you were in the jungle. We loved the sloth, parrots, and blue morpho butterflies! The room was comfortable, but hot, although it cooled down during the evening with the ceiling fan. The pool was lovely. Catherine was a very helpful host.

It’s tricky to find the first time, so arrive during the day. Not enough hooks in the bathroom for towels.

Cat was so friendly and helpful when we arrived and checking on us while we were out on the property. Loved the pool and it was very clean and well-maintained. This is a private location off the beaten path and in nature. Saw monkeys a few times and lots of birds. We stayed in the 2 BR apartment and it was small, but nice. We would go back for sure.

Only suggestion we have would be to add some hooks inside the apartment for drying towels. It is so rainy and humid that they never dried out on the patio, but hooks inside would help as the fans are really great indoors.

We really enjoyed the setting of our room in the jungle where the rustic outdoor kitchen connect us to the nature . The bedroom and bath look out to the forest. The shower with 3 different heads was great. The place was built 6 years ago by European couple, Cat from France and Phil from Germany. The decoration of the lodge was very relaxing and comfortable. The swimming pool was a great escape for the hot humid weather. We also enjoyed meeting a white nosed coati, a vulture and a group of squirrel monkeys in the backyard. We woke up by all kind of sounds from animal kingdom ..... We appreciate that the hosting couple went out their way to welcome us with good fruits and assisted us.

We wish the last leg of the drive to the lodging were not that bumpy.

The jungle atmosphere and sounds, lizard in the kitchen, outdoor kitchen and sitting area, big glass doors that face the jungle from your bed, owner Cat, friendly dogs, the family bungalow was good for two people. The plates, cups , glassware and refrigerator were great.

Finding it without GPS at night wasn’t easy. That was my fault for my phone not working. For coffee lovers- the coffee machine is so fast that you’ll have to use a lot of coffee to get any taste. I ended up using my drip filter. For cooks-There’s only a single electric burner for cooking. The Kitchen utensils, cutting board, pots and pans are older. For lovers of quiet and clean air- This is not the owner’s fault but there’s noise and the smell of diesel exhaust from nearby construction that started at 7:30 AM on both of our mornings.

The photos do not do this place any justice. It is exceptionally beautiful and located inside the jungle which provides a wonderful experience. Spotted lots of animals within the property premises, including chipmunks, monkeys, a Jesus lizard, and even a frog. Considering the location insects were surprisingly not an issue. The host also provided us with coffee for the entire duration of the stay as well as gave us a pineapple and 2 mangoes upon our arrival.

A car, taxi (UBER is unreliable) or public transport (need a 15 minute walk to reach the nearest bus stop) is required to reach the town center.

Pool was nice. Enjoyed seeing/hearing the monkeys

With no AC we had to rely on the ceiling fans and open sliding doors but there was damage to the screens allowing insects entry.

    Property response:

We are sorry that you were not fully satisfied with your stay. For the sake of reducing our ecological impact, we do not use air conditioning for the benefit of wild freshness, which is indicated in the description of the establishment. Being in direct contact with the tropical forest sometimes leads to the incursion of small, more or less welcome visitors. Our screen doors are regularly damaged and we try to repair them between two reservations. In high season, the manufacturer is unfortunately very busy and repairs are therefore not immediate.

Great pool, nice little bungalows overlooking the jungle. You can see a lot of wildlife and it’s really relaxing.

The owners are strange… they wanted to be paid in cash, which is SO inconvenient (I know they tell you this before you arrive, but this really isn’t a good system at all). I rented all 3 bungalows so the total was close to $1,000. Obviously I don’t carry $1,000 cash around with me, so I asked if I could pay using transfer wise (the sender covers all the cost with transfer wise). The woman said that was fine, then later started saying ‘it’s not cool to pay this way…’ when she’d said it was fine the day before. So then I tried to get the cash in Quepos, which is nearly impossible. I don’t know if it was because it was over Christmas but none of the cash machines had even a quarter of the money I needed, so after trying for 2 days on 5 different cards, on the third day I spent an hour in the bank getting the cash on 2 different cards. This ended up costing nearly $80 in fees! This is a stupid way for guests to spend time, a stupid amount to pay to get cash and a bad way to treat guests. I don’t know if the owners want cash to avoid Costa Rican tax or just don’t understand technology, but in years I’ve never been asked to pay in cash for air Bnb/booking.com. Its 2023 and we have these amazing things called credit cards which mean guests don’t have to spend hours of their holiday at the bank, wasting money on crazy bank fees. Seriously just buy a card reader they cost $5.

    Property response:

Dear traveler. We are sorry for the inconvenience regarding our payment terms. There are over 1,000 tourist-friendly accommodations in Quepos, some of which certainly accept credit cards. You made your reservation in June for a stay at the end of December, which gave you plenty of time to consider other accommodation if our announced conditions did not suit you. In order to maintain reasonable prices for travelers as much as for us, we limit unnecessary costs as much as possible (PayPal Pro, bank transfer, card machine, etc.) in favor of mandatory taxes (18% commissions, 13% VAT, 15% % income, land, etc.) which WE PAY FOR. Also note that we have often accepted bank or PayPal transfers at a loss, as long as the customer notifies us in advance and politely (not by putting us on a fait accompli) and that the payment is made at most on the day of arrival in the accommodation. Finally, I remind you that you have not paid the entire amount due, leaving us to bear half of the bank charges from which you suffered. I wish you to better anticipate your next stays abroad, while respecting the rules established by the hosts welcoming you.

    - Nice layout of the property. - Clean swimming pool. - Caring and friendly hosts.

    - Apartment itself could have been a little bit cleaner (floor, coffee machine).

    Property response:

Thank you for staying at Selva Linda Lodge. Thanks to your testimony we will be more vigilant about the work of our cleaning lady. However, I hope that you have realized that the floors are made of imitation aged parquet tiles....if they were not sufficiently clean, we sincerely apologize.

The lodge is well located in the middle of nature. We could sit nice outside to observate the animals. The bungalow has a huge Window, so that you can also watch the animals from inside the bed. The owners had recommended their neighbor to us for a tour in Manuel antonio, which was very good. The complex as a whole is very well maintained and the pool is also very tidy. The room does not have air conditioning, but this was not necessary as there was enough air circulation due to the design of the Bungalow and the fan and it was not hot or stuffy in the Room.

We felt the price was too high. Our kitchen was not well equipped. We would have preferred a small electric stove. In addition, we did not receive fresh towels or room service for 2 nights. Basically, you don't need fresh towels every day. However, we were there during the rainy season, so our towels couldn't dry.

Great place in the middle of nature. We can always watch monkeys from our balcony and there's 2 hammocks which is perfect for a couple. There are 2 other rental properties in the compound but we felt privacy as our balcony was opposite the others and facing just nature. Kitchen is equipped enough for simple meals. The swimming pool is nice to have is the Costa Rican heat. Owners are very kind.

The forest accommodation is located in the middle of the rainforest, in a particularly beautiful, orderly and well-maintained environment. In the cabin you really feel like you're out in nature, it's simply fantastic. The pool is easy to use and clean. Special point for the two cute dogs who are adorable :) Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely come back here!

We loved our stay in Selva Linda Lodge! Absolutely magical to be in the rainforest and be able to sit in hammocks on the balcony watching and listening to the wildlife. We saw quite a few monkeys during our stay! The facilities are great and it was lovely to dip in the pool after hot days. The check in and check out was easy too, and our hosts were very friendly. Thanks so much! Highly recommended!

There isn't a great pedestrian route to Quepos, however the surroundings of the lodge make up for it! It's easy to get in to town via car or taxi so this isn't really a problem.

It was in a unique location, overlooking the jungle. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and private. Close to the chocolate tour and far away from the hustle and bustle of Quepos.

It would have been helpful to have a rack for drying our wet clothes, but overall a great experience!!
