Generally clean, larger plot of land, has lock box for valuables

Mattresses are loud every time you turn and not very comfortable. Owner was quite grumpy. It was a surprise that I had to pay cash. Only 1 bathroom for all the guys, then 1 for all girls so frequently had to wait a few minutes. Location is 10ish minutes out of the center of town

Exceptionally clean, walking distance from downtown but in a quiet area.

Good parking space, no noises at night, flexibility at arrival in check-in, polite and friendly host, equipped and modern facilities, currency in dollars or colones, wooden locker for small belongings in case something of value is to be stored, beautiful bathrooms and shower, big kitchen with a view, excellent value for money

It's not the owner's fault, but it seems La Fortuna has water outages every now and then, so be prepared to not shower or have the water cut off mid process, and there's no air conditioner (there is a fan on the room but it was not turned on for some reason) so humidity and hot temperature will be your partner when trying to sleep, and beds make a noise (probably the mattress' cover is made of a noisy material) when someone rolls over when sleeping, so bring earplugs, and a face mask for the morning light

The location was great. Oscar was not. He upcharged us as soon as we arrived, twice. Also, there was construction going on all day and he would walk in the rooms at 5 in the am for whatever reason. Not staying here ever again.

The owner not lying about the price and then comes by into our rooms at 5 in the morning. Also, there was construction the whole time.

Had ac, parking within the gate, good comfortable bed. Had laundry. Had separate female bathroom which was good.

They didnt let ac turn on till like 8pm and the person staying in my dorm had a stench which became too much without the ac turned on.

The guy looking after the hostel while the owner was away was very friendly! The bathrooms had hot water and were clean and modern. There were two kitchens areas and two fridges! It’s located in a quiet and green area of town (note it is in a residential apartment complex). Good spot to relax!

I stayed for a few nights but didn’t have air conditioning for the first night as the owner forgot to give the aircon remote to the guy who was looking after the property while they were away. It could also be improved with a key to the hostel for security as the hostel was left unlocked even when nobody was there. It would also be nice to have some opaque curtains for the dorm, as the curtains let in light and you could see into the room from the outside. Perhaps the signage at the hostel could be improved as it felt a bit unofficial when I arrived. There was also one day when I arrived back at the hostel and all the gates were closed and I had to figure out how to open them from the outside (there was no buzzer to press). It seems like a new hostel, and I had a great stay, so these are just a few suggestions ☺️

New modern place that is tidy and clean. Everything is cleaned daily. The kitchen is very well equipped and greatly sized considering the amount of beds. If you want to check out the free swimming place it's the direction of the hostel out of town.

The accommodation is a bit out of the city centre but still a grocery shop in walking distance.

+ Booked dorm room but was actually only use which was nice. + Big communal kitchen for only two dorm rooms. Was nice and well equipped. + Seating area was nice. Basically a two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms (one male, one female) so spacious and nice. + Location not too far away from centre of town. Walkable to supermarkets and to El Salto rope swing.

- Advertised as air con but was not switched on. Given a fan instead but air con would have been nicer. It wasn’t too hot so was fine.

The staff was very helfull and welcoming. Hot showers and clean kitchen with fully equipped. Clean bedrooms

You get a lot for what you pay. It’s really clean, the kitchen is superb, and I felt really comfortable. Would totally recommend it!!!

The property was fine. However there was a really sick girl in the room I was staying in so I asked to change rooms. He changed my room however it was in the same space as the other room where we shared a common area. Then she switched rooms to another one on the other side of the complex but still came over to cook her meals….

I didn’t like that when I asked to switch rooms they didn’t take me completely out the accommodation where she was with all the coughing and not washing her hands before touching things
